Maybe I will find time to change my avatar later today. And I did!
Interesting about BK’s experiences with Laguna. Except for a couple of drive-throughs to show out-of-towners, think I was there a grand total of twice, both times in my first few months in California.
The only food I remember was discovering my first ever baklava pastries from some little bakery or something on the highway on the north side of town.
This was in 1972. Anybody remember 1972? I remember 1972.
Monday morning greetings from Grand Blanc, Michigan! Yesterday was the surprisingly festive celebration of life reception at the golf club where my sister and her husband have played for 50+ years. Today is the more somber internment of ashes at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors. Fr. Richard planned the service and is co-officiating with the Methodist minister from my sister’s church. We’re only allowed 30 minutes in the cemetery pavilion, so it will be short and sweet.
But, why dwell on the ugly things in life?
I loved Jacksonville ane explored it every chance I got.
Made a friend who is still a very special person in my life thanks to Facebook connecting us two years ago after a 50-year gap in our communications.
My update. I have not been well these last several months. Suffering from lymphademia which makes it difficult to walk and having heart issues as well. Today is an ultrasound on my leg to see if they can find a cause. In two weeks I will have a heart monitor installed in my cheat.

I slept well. A bourbon and ginger ale seemed to do the trick.
My phone refused to charge last night.

I know many of you are cat lovers, but dog lovers must be among us.

My friend Jerry is taking me to lunch today. He will be here in a few ticks.

In other news, the publishers of FINALE, the music notation software that DR Elmore's partners are expert at, and which has been the leader in Broadway score and parts notation for years, just announced the end of both development and support for the product this morning. Effective immediately, you can't acquire it or upgrade your copy, and after one year you won't even be able to install it on another computer.
I think of people like Josh Clayton in NYC, DR Elmore's friend at Indiana University whose name is escaping me at the moment, Richard Allen in LA who's a power user from years back, and countless other composers, arrangers, orchestrators, and more in many areas of the biz. They'll have their existing copies of the software to nurture and use for as long as possible. But what a shakeup.
Thank you DR JANE and thank you.
We went to El Rodeo. We had a nice lunch and talked about varied and sundry things....
Has anyone watched this British series The Terror which is now playing on Amazon Prime?

If that's the series about the Arctic voyage, we loved it.

"I found the problem: it's your cat-a-lytic converter!"
I passed this advice on to DR Jeanne...
The Marie Kondo "Does this spark joy?" method of decluttering never worked for me.
Someone just changed my entire life by introducing me to "The Poop Rule:"
If this object had poop on it, would I wash if off, or throw it away?
:)

We need to be out of the place by the end of the month. If we can get rid of the furniture, we’ll be fine.
I enjoyed my book discussion gathering today.

Is all the furniture just being discarded, or does some of it need to go to certain people?
Go to neverwalz dot come and get a Big Surprise!
Otherwise, hopefully George will be here sooner or later.
