Well, you've read the notes, the notes were very February, and now it is time for you to post until the February cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PRODUCTIVE!
-
Good morning.
-
Happy birthday to HHW's DJ Donald!
-
Vibes that BK's important envelopes arrive today!
-
Good morning, all!
-
By 3:00 yesterday afternoon - after the stress of the lobby stairs, two Access-a-Ride vehicles that forced more exertion than I'd like to enter/exit, and the schlep around my HMO - my legs were finished for the day. By the time I finished my late afternoon cleanup, I was crawling around the apartment. As soon as I lay down, I took three gabapentin for the pains. Around 8:30, I went to bed and set the alarm for 6:00.
-
When the alarm rang,I decided to sleep in, and the cats roused me around 7:00. I must go to the basement with the trash and then pick up packages and the mail, although I have no urge to walk today.
-
DR Jeanne, I'm sorry to read about your condo situation. You and I and other DRs as well could use a good stroke of luck, and I hope yours happens very soon.
-
BK, I wish the theatre could have hired me to orchestrate Drat! The Cat! for a small group of players. Before the orchestra parts were located, I hadted to score the show for your recording.
-
Today is a tax day: after I finish kitty cleanup and make the bed, I need to go through a ton of envelopes and sort/toss them. I'd like to finish up the tax return ASAP.
-
DR Jeanne, I'm sorry to read about your condo situation. You and I and other DRs as well could use a good stroke of luck, and I hope yours happens very soon.

I like to cook - although I don't have a big repertory of dishes.....I am always on the lookout for easy and fun.....meals that is.
-
It is 32 degrees headed for 42 degrees.
-
And last night CLASSICO disappeared from my Roku.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy birthday, Donald!
-
Major miracle vibes for BK.
-
Happy Saturday vibes for the rest of us.

I want to try this. Odd as it sounds.

TOD:
As much as I love to cook, I would rather eat out.
-
I do occasionally miss the old job. Just not the place.
-
The sun is streaming in. Should be nice today.

Enough of this page.

Let’s move on.

Two!

February!!
I hope my important envelope arrives today as well.
Vibes for your important envelope!

Happy Birthday Donald F!
-
Good morning, all.
-
And a very Happy Birthday to Donald Feltham!
-
I have to run because I have errands to complete, music to go over, and a long rehearsal this afternoon for a little Valentine's concert a few of us sometimes do at retirement homes.
-
Back............................................. .......................later! Way later. :)

TOD:
As much as I love to cook, I would rather eat out.
I agree.

Today is Victor Herbert's 166th Birthday.
This remains my favorite Herbert song. Much of Glen MacDonough's work on Babes in Toyland and the other shows he wrote with Herbert are so-so, but I think he achieves some touching moments in these lyrics:

Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR Donald!!!
-
Today is National Dark Chocolate Day.
-
And National Baked Alaska Day.
-
It's not a pie, but it's still a sweet treat.
-
Happy birthday, Victor! 166 years is a good long run.
-
Today is National Dark Chocolate Day.
Every day is dark chocolate day.
-
Crawford and Gable are Chained! They’re in a movie called Chained, too.
-
I have two of their pictures for today.
-
The other is called Love on the Run.

TOD: I don't like to be fussed over. So I prefer to order at the counter and seat myself.
And it seems I see so many videos about servers complaining about people tipping. I always worry I'm doing it wrong -- so I avoid places where tipping is required.

My envelope did not arrive today.
Sorry, Jrand. Hoping it arrives Monday.

We rarely eat out. The exception is when we park the car before a theater performance and have lunch to be sure we get a parking spot. Even then, it's Chipotle.

WTH?? Maybe it's too "woke"?? :o

England. It was mentioned on castrecl today

Facebook tells me it was five years ago today that my daughter and I met Elmore's friend, the conductor of Fiddler on the Roof.
We didn't have a care in the world that day. Just before covid hit.
-
Laura, your comment made me look up where I was today five years ago. There was a short video of my dance teachers, Jack and Joy, dancing. Nice memory. Thank you.

Because it worked so well for Camelot?

Donald Meek was a great forgotten character actor. In Love on the Run, he has a lovely turn as the crazy caretaker of Fontainebleau.

I can't believe the Lerners or the Loewe Foundation allowed it, but I guess once the original authors are dead, anything for a fast buck.

Today would have been Kerry's birthday. I took him an Oreo cake (his favorite) on his last birthday.
Well, coconut cake was his favorite, but I don't like coconut. Oreo cake was his second favorite.
-
We got mangos and blueberries in our produce box this morning. So I'll make muffins for church tomorrow. We are doing a blood drive, so it's good to have a snack ahead of time.
-
It's a lazy day in the CSRA.
-
It could be a lazy afternoon, except that I have a birthday party to attend at 2 p.m.
Miss Audrey James Moore, a cousin, is now 4 years old and having a party.
I wouldn't miss it for anything.

I'm up, I'm up - maybe eight hours of sleep.
-
Close, anyway.
-
elmore, I wish they could afford it, too - I wish they could afford a lot of things, including paying ME and the actors something. Alas. Not sure you could get it all done in time even if they did, but I know it would sound better than trying to use random band charts. Of course, you could then go to the Estate and say you have them and see if they'd make a deal - but I don't think they care if it's just a piano.
-
I'll go to the bank and mail place after this musical director session, which I really need to be short.
-
If one is to believe the forecast, it will be in the 80s by Wednesday.
-
It’s 72 out there now.
-
I need to get some more plants outside.

Onward!

Do you think they care more about how Ira Levin's book and lyrics come off than the composer's work?
-
Thanks DR Iris. Basically your only preference of the airports is convenience for flights. Good to know.
Oh, and Craig is in Silver Springs.

This was, er, an exclusive interview with the "Ghost of Alan Jay Lerner" who was hanging out at Vassar having mixed feelings watching them develop the gender-switched ON A CLEAR DAY - which you may know had Davey Gamble instead of Daisy Gamble.

I think he is about the same distance between BWI & National. Dulles is a bit farther.

Amazon just delivered a carton containing two household items: an order of three Palmolive dish washing liquid soap and three packs of Scotch all-purpose washing pads. The idiot who packed the carton threw the three bottles of liquid soap[ into the carton, tossed in the Scotch pads, and covered the tems with a long strip of paper for whatever.
During the tossings and turnings of a delivery, one of the bottles of soap opened and I just opened the carton to find everything coated in dishwashing liquid soap. Why the fat hell can someone so careless about secure packing be working at that job?
-
TOD:
As much as I love to cook, I would rather eat out.
You are fortunate to have a selection of good restaurants to choose from.
-
So . . . I called Amazon to complain because I can find nowhere on Amazon a page to complain about an order. The nice lady I spoke to could offer me a refund or replacement but that's about it. I told I wanted neither; I want the asshole who packed my order made into a rug and replaced.

I never was until I got GERD and dark chocolate does not cause the same reaction. I still don't care for most dark chocolate.

Today would have been Kerry's birthday. I took him an Oreo cake (his favorite) on his last birthday.
Well, coconut cake was his favorite, but I don't like coconut. Oreo cake was his second favorite.
This is a nice memory, and his second favorite cake was perfect if it meant you ate it with him.

Interesting about the snacks ahead of the blood draw. I always thought they were given after.

Thanks DR Iris. Basically your only preference of the airports is convenience for flights. Good to know.
Oh, and Craig is in Silver Springs.
I lived and worked in Silver Spring for many years.
I flew out of Reagan/National often, and Dulles on coast to coast flights.
BWI would also be a good choice, about one hour away, all depending upon traffic.
-
Happy Birthday, Donald!

Amazon’s once excellent customer service has significantly deteriorated, based on my experience. I try to avoid ordering from them, but sometimes they’re my only choice.
-
I tried Instacart a few days ago, and used them to order from Walmart, which is about 25 minutes from me.
Imagine my surprise when I noticed a $7.00 “long distance delivery fee”.
They sent the shopper to a Walmart one hour away from me, much closer to Washington, DC, than to Baltimore.
I called to complain, only to be told nothing could be done about it.
-
If one is to believe the forecast, it will be in the 80s by Wednesday.

There isn't any way to specify that only a local store should be ordered from? Sounds like extortion!

Jane, this is the movie theater where I worked in 1974.
It was just a nice, little one screen theater at the time. It’s become a cultural and film center.
I wonder if Craig has been here.

Thanks for reminding us about Kerry, DR Laura.

DR Iris if you open the link for your local Walmart there should be an option to "make it my store".
I think the problem is that I ordered from Instacart.
The shopper said that they are not allowed to choose a location if it’s from Walmart or Costco. I will still probably use Instacart, but only for local stores.
Amazon is even worse. I rarely receive orders on time, if at all, even though I’m a Prime member.

I'm surprised about Instacart. My experience with them has always been they know where I live and choose accordingly. Your experience is very disappointing and so is their reaction to it - I'd get a supervisor on the phone, if possible.

Otherwise, what happened to you is exactly what happened with DoorDash - sending someone eight miles away when I have the restaurant 1.5 miles from here.

Ridic.
-
We went through the charts and have everything we need. But - and it's a big BUT - no string parts. That's not going to impact us or any small production, but where ARE they?

Exactly. I was thinking the same thing.
I knew something was wrong when it took over 2 hours to deliver 6 items.

Bruce when eating out why not just drink water instead of buying a soda?

Hello, everyone.
-
I like eating out but not every night. It is easier to stay home and make a healthy meal. The problem with eating out is getting something healthy. Often when we travel we get desparate for vegetables.
-
Happy Birthday, Donald F!
Hope you’re having a lovely day.

I did try to get a supervisor on the phone.
Got someone in India who took 30 minutes explaining that there was nothing that could be done.
This is also what happens when I call Amazon. I’ve given up.

Sending major condo and dental vibes!

Thanks for the commiserations. I looked at two more condos today. The first was nice, but someone had added built-in cabinets — in black — in the bedroom. I would have to tear out quite a bit and don’t want to do an extensive remodel.
The second one I’d seen in the listing photos — and hated! The owners had torn out much of both the kitchen and bathroom cabinets because ?? I have not seen a single remodel in this complex that I’ve liked. I’m looking for a unit that’s close to the original. Sigh.
I’m feeling a bit discouraged at the moment.

Hello, everyone.
Hello, Jeanne!
Sending major condo and dental vibes!
Hi, Iris, Thank you! Both are needed.
-
Was supposed to go to the son’s birthday party at a viewing of the Dogman movie, alas the daughter has a double ear infection. So had to go down to urgent care in mainland Washington where a mini blizzard happened while we waited to see a doc. Mrs Rodz is handling the party, and the only good news about this is I had no desire to see the Dogman movie.

Antibiotics procured and home in my sunny lil town.

I'm surprised about Instacart. My experience with them has always been they know where I live and choose accordingly. Your experience is very disappointing and so is their reaction to it - I'd get a supervisor on the phone, if possible.
I did try to get a supervisor on the phone.
Got someone in India who took 30 minutes explaining that there was nothing that could be done.
This is also what happens when I call Amazon. I’ve given up.
>:(

I’ve spent a lot of time over the past two weeks trying to fix problems with online orders. In one case, a missing item, in another case the wrong item sent. Vitacost’s customer service, never great, as sunk to a new low. Kroger bought them a year or so ago and that’s when it started. I’m looking for a new supplement supplier.
But my Amazon experience was very good, not at all like Iris’. Yesterday I spoke to a bright and helpful young woman, who understood the problem and issued a refund.
My experiences with online chat have been consistently poor. It takes too long and the rep often doesn’t understand the problem and we go round and round. Is this a bot masquerading as a human?

Vibes you find a condo there that is the original look or close to it.
-
Healthy vibes to little Rodzette. Hope she feels better soon. And then Dad can take her to Dogman. 😉

I hope the party is small since Mrs Rodz has to handle it on her own.
Get well super fast vibes to your DD.

Good. Was the drive bad?

I must ask if Freyja has seen the Dogman movie.

And if you take "too long" to respond they shut the chat down.

;D

I looked at the release date of Dog Man and the timing really is perfect for a birthday movie.
-
So, someone has rewritten the book to Brigadoon. Why? Not enough PTSD in it? Not enough nudity? Not enough kilts?
I can't believe the Lerners or the Loewe Foundation allowed it, but I guess once the original authors are dead, anything for a fast buck.
This was, er, an exclusive interview with the "Ghost of Alan Jay Lerner" who was hanging out at Vassar having mixed feelings watching them develop the gender-switched ON A CLEAR DAY - which you may know had Davey Gamble instead of Daisy Gamble.

I enjoyed this. Thanks.
I could say that about these condo remodels.

Vibes to all — for money, for patience, and for good health.

Feel-better vibes to your daughter!
-
My license plates and registration came today, so the plates are now on the car - I'll live with the plates for a bit and then if I'm not feeling it, will think about personalized. The car place also gave me a little refund, which was surprising - because the new registration and tags are April and I just got the bill for that. This doesn't quite cover the renewal but it's most of it. I'll do that online.
-
Hope daughter feels better SOON!

Good news from BK about the important envelopes.
-
We just got a "smart" digital photo frame and I'm having some fun with that.
-
You can email photos directly to it.

Vibes to all — for money, for patience, and for good health.
DITTO!

TOD: I like both cooking and eating out, so it's hard to choose one. But after this two-rehearsal day we're definitely eating out!

Ear infections are horrible. Vibes for Little Miss Rodz.

Home from dancing.
-
We tried a tango line dance tonight. It was fun.
-
Watching a documentary called My Name is Alfred Hitchcock.
-
Gratuitous post 200!
-
My Name Is Alfred Hitchcock works because it includes snippets from so many of his movies, including the silents. The director even found a way to include Waltzes from Vienna and Jamaica Inn. I haven’t seen Mr. snd Mrs. Smith yet.
-
Mr. and Mrs. Smith has appeared at last. And so has Juno and the Paycock.
-
Thanks for the heads up on that documentary, DR John G.
-
I see that it can be streamed on Apple+.

Today's party was a bit tiring. Too much for me, at any rate. So many kids, many of whom were older than Audrey. She often looked so very small among them. And for some reason, she was very shy today.
I know she knows me, is often quite animated around me, but she barely took notice of me when I spoke to her to wish her a happy birthday.
At any rate, I stayed about 45 minutes and then returned home. I didn't feel exactly "up to snuff" and my nap once I got home was about 90 minutes. Still not feeling spiffy but don't feel sick, either.
-
Starting something called Star of Midnight with William Powell in full Nick Charles mode and Ginger Rogers trying hard to be Myrna Loy.
-
It’s soaked in gin.
-
I wish I were.
-
But not tonight.
-
Eight!
-
Bye, Rupert!

Good night, singdaw

Good night, all.

Antibiotics procured and home in my sunny lil town.
Good. Was the drive bad?
Nope. As I headed to pick up the prescription, we headed out of harm’s snowy way.
-
Healthy vibes to little Rodzette. Hope she feels better soon. And then Dad can take her to Dogman. 😉
Thank you! Though I hope she forgets about Dogman.
-
Thank you all DRs, for your kind wishes for Little Rodzette. She is sleeping beside me now. The first dose of antibiotic didn’t agree with her tummy, but hopefully with more of an appetite tomorrow, she’ll get back on track.
-
Had a nice three-hour nappy.
-
I thought it would be one-hour.
-
Go know.
-
Now I'm all groggy and foggy and froggy.
-
Tonight, I went to my mom's to watch her cat Henry for a few hours.
-
He seems to be doing okay by himself....my niece has been going over there in the mornings.
-
Tomorrow, she'll go in the morning, and then we'll visit my mom in the hospital in the early afternoon.
-
She's doing as well as can be expected, but things are not happening as quickly as we'd like them to happen.
-
She has to be off one of her medications for five days before they can start the steroids, but I don't know when the last time she took the medication that she needs to be off of.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.

I wrote them.

That much is true.

I've lost fifty pounds in the past week.

That much is not true.

The brew that is true.

Is page nine waiting in the wings?

See?
