Thank you all for your nice comments.

My father was absolutely beaming when I talked to him on FaceTime. This has perked him up and gives a goal to wait for when he is presented with it next month.

My mother was so happy that when she called me at work to tell me I wasn't there but she made sure my fellow co-workers knew!! :-)

Thanks again to all

I have another book available through the library.  I had better read faster.  I slept fairly decent the last two nights and didn't get much reading done.  Sleep is good.  I should be reading now instead.
How long do you get the books for? Cause if you get them for three weeks and read a book every two days then you should not have to rush.

From DR TCB:

Strange!  Now Jane's name is showing up, but she has already said good night.

Odd, I might have read an email after saying goodnight but I didn't stay on the computer long.

Your name stayed up there for about a half hour.

Waiting for someone to come help me set this printer thing up.  I think I put in the one piece that you have to install in the back - it seemed to just slide in and snap, so I think I did that right.  If the person I called isn't here in thirty minutes (it's already been ninety minutes since they said, "See you in a little while") I'll just call and have HP talk me through it.  I already have the page on their site up that has the installation instructions for the Mac Lion operating system, but first I think I have to plug in the machine and install the ink.  Just don't want to do anything wrong.

You have created entire motion pictures, you have produced literally hundreds of music CDs, and you have written some fantastic books.  And yet, you are worried about installing your new computer wrong?

Good evening.  Was mostly E&T today due to a house issue that needed attention and is decently under control but which will require the services of a plumber.  Vent pipe in attic had water in it and developed a leak.  Long story.  But that long story leads to why I also suddenly require a new computer.  Not a lot of fun, no sirree.

But this evening was fun.  Attended a blocking rehearsal and could hardly say no to playing it, so even though I'm still a little rough on the score, I was no worse than the cast and we all had a good time.

I have really liked the HP printer I've had for a few years.  Series 7600 or something like that.  Sadly, the ethernet port got fried somehow and this one didn't have wireless, so the only way I can use it now is to be directly connected to it.  But when it goes, I'll definitely get another HP.

I'm glad I watched Downton Abbey on Monday--Tuesday's Washington Post had an article about the big surprise.

Kevin, how are you going to get a ticket to the Academy Awards?

I like HP, too - had I bought my last one through HP directly I would have still been under warranty.  But this new model is so much quieter and faster than the one I got two-and-a-half years ago, so I'm very happy.  It also holds more paper and the inks all last longer.

In HD.....Miss Maggie Smith.....is beginning to look....her age......

She looks pretty aged, that's for sure.

Still, I wonder how much of it is "makeup".

Of course, one can ask that about "this photo" (with Pauline Collins) from her 2013 film "Quartet" in which she looks ever so much better than she does in "Downton Abbey".

of course that was 10 years ago

QUARTET was made ten years ago?

Is Raul Esparza gay?  He didn't seem gay as Bobby in COMPANY, but he sure does on LAW & ORDER.

I'd read that he considers himself bi...and I think only recently (within the last few years) admitted that to himself.

Lord I wish there was some way to make spammers suffer, and I mean like torture and death.  I literally cannot keep up with nuking this crap and that includes sixty spam registrations a day on this site.  The minute I nuke fifty from e-mail, another ten are there one minute later.

Today was the first day of my ultra long weekend! And it was quite productive.

I did take time out to watch an episode of the 1970s series DAN AUGUST. Burt Reynolds is quite subdued in that show...or maybe it was just that particular episode. Still, I liked it and an actor that I will soon be interviewing was in the guest cast.

Did anyone here watch this series when it originally aired? I don't think we got it in Medford (we only had 2 Network tv stations at that time).

Soon I shall be off to bed. Tomorrow I am meeting my brother Jeff for lunch in downtown Portland at Thai Bamboo.

Jeff is retiring from his Federal Govt job and he and his wife are moving back to Medford next month.
