Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Today's performance of "Hollywood Who Done It" went well and was well attended.  We're now off until Friday.  Usually, the shows that I've been in have a Thursday, or even a Wednesday performance, but not this show.  Oh, well.  It's not a normal theater company's production, so it is what it is.

Is anyone watching Broadchurch on BBC America? I watched the first four episodes today - it is quite engrossing.

We watched the first 2 two and Keith didn't want to continue watching so we stopped.

It was requested if we could add a Sunday matinee on the last weekend, but some people are involved in a wedding, so we can't do an extra show that Sunday.

If they thought about it, I couldn't do a performance on our last Saturday because I'm going to Secretary-Treasurer Training for my union.

It's in SeaTac (about an hour north of here) and ends at 4:00, so that's plenty of time for me to get back for the evening show, but I wouldn't want to have to cancel the training for a Saturday matinee.

And this coming Saturday, I'm going to a wedding!  My friends Rick and Scott are FINALLY getting married!  I met them in 1990, when Rick and I were in a production of "The Boy Friend" and they had been together for a couple of years at that point, so they've been together now for about 24 years!  Congrats to them!

After marriage equality passed here in Washington, they told everyone that they were going to get married, but for whatever reason, they wanted to wait.  But now it's time! :D

Wow, what a day and evening. Exhausting, I must say, but two amazing audiences - the matinee was not sold out but VERY full and the evening was completely sold out, save for a handful of no-shows. Both shows went very well and our cast was just stellar - Dan Callaway, Kay Cole, Josh Finkel, Jane Noseworthy and Valerie Perri - each so wonderful on all their songs, along with Jenna Lea Rosen (who stopped the show cold with Dear Mr. Gershwin), Sami Staitman and Sarah Staitman, along with our guest star, the great Sharon McNight. All accompanied by the brilliant John Boswell. Co-produced by the tireless Adryan Russ. One of the most moving highlights for me was hearing Sami, Sarah and Jenna do my song Three Friends.  They did it so beautifully, and several people were very moved by it. Otherwise, it was just a lot of true highlights - Josh killing it with She Touched Me, Jane hitting it out of the park with a totally unique Getting Married Today, Valerie doing the best As If We Never Said Goodbye ever, Dan doing an amazing The Kid Inside, and beautiful Kay Cole making magic of One Boy, a song from Bye Bye Birdie, which she was in on Broadway. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. A wonderful, magical day and evening. And The Yiddish Sondheim was as funny now as it was when we did What If back in 2004.

Am listening to "On the 20th Century" for the first time in ages. I just wish BK had handled the CD release. The sound is not good, but that score is just extraordinary. And I know Hal Prince fired her on opening night, but Madeleine Kahn is excellent.

Actually she was not fired on opening night. She left after two months and while she was in the show she missed a lot of performances. She was replaced by her understudy Judy Kaye. Kahn said  "she said she was withdrawing because of damage to her vocal cords." but that was a just an excuse

Interesting...I didn't know any of this.

Congrats, BK!
