Thanks fellas, and Ginny too!

Jose, I can do lunch Friday. I still work right near Grand Central for the next couple weeks.

Jason- First Hello! I think you began posting again while I was gone, so our paths haven't really crossed. ALTAR BOYZ is kinda a one joke thing, not really offensive to me, but a little easy in its choice of targets. But the thing that made it  worthwhile for me is the satirical choreography. It has to be bad enough to indicate "BAD" but also really good at the same time. That was most entertainingly achieved, and as Jose says, it is pretty short.

Hey, speaking of...nothing, really, I just noticed on my Futurama calendar that today is Merv Griffin's birthday.  He's 80 years old!  Also, he has the exact same birthday as Bill Haley of Bill Haley and the Comets!  BH would be 80 years old today if he were still alive (he died in 1981).

Last night, Tim the Sound Man had a family emergency and could not attend rehearsal.  It was "family night" in which the cast can ask family members to attend and take photos - so there were about one dozen people there.  I ran the sound - and missed a few cues - we had a thunder storm without much thunder and I missed a music cue - but we survived.  I hope Tim is back tonight.

Oh, and after our two week run here in Greencastle, we are headed for Broadway.

Oh well, I guess that means that PURLIE will have to close out of town!

Well, do you know what makes doing community theatre so stressful and unpleasant?  And yes, I know there are many answers to that question, but I will only say, it is untalented boyfriends of directors who know EVERYTHING about putting on a show even though their only experience in theatre was four years ago as a contestant in the Miss Sunset Manor at-large drag contest - in which they place fifth out of five contestants.

And that, as they say, is that.

Uhhhh, I am assuming this is not your boyfriend?

Well, I still think he was robbed, but I told Sir Ian MacKellan when I worked with him on BABES IN TOYLAND that he'd been robbed the year he lost the Academy Award for GODS AND MONSTERS.

As was Brendan, for not even getting a nomination.

If last night's audience was to be believed, Purlie would run forever.

I'm back from a VERY long day.  I have to eat something before I pass out.  Back momentarily.

Ate two chicken breasts from Gelson's - they were really yummilicious.  Thus far, I think I've dropped about five pounds.  Many to go.

TCB I still remember reading a review criticizing Brendan, not for his acting but that he wasn’t appealing enough for the role.  Even if I personally agreed Brendan isn’t appealing, which I completely don’t, what a ridiculous thing to say.

Doggone it! It wasn't June Havoc that I always got mixed up with June Haver...it was June Vincent that I always got mixed up with June Haver and June Havoc!

June Vincent is the stern(er) looking June, and whose appeal I never understood.

One of my # 1 hoped for films to someday come out on DVD is finally coming out on DVD! The 1955 version of WE'RE NO ANGELS starring Humphrey Bogart, Aldo Ray, and Peter Ustinov, with Gloria Talbott! Woohoo!

Release date is 9/27/05

We have TiVo set to record all Bogart movies.  I don't believe Angels has recorded in a long, long time.  Good movie. :)

I don't mean to brag...okay, I do, but I saw Brendan LIVE on stage in London in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof!  Can we say Yum!! ;)

Click HERE for a page with pictures of the production.  And as a teaser (straight men can just scroll past it), here's a picture:

Looking at that cute hunk I can’t imagine why any critic would comment he wasn’t appealing enough to be someone’s obsession.  ::)  While Keith doesn't view him exactly as I do, he still gets Brendan's appeal.

The end.
