Hope to finish JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG today, and then perhaps put in SECONDS since we were talking about ROck Hudson last night.

Since ALEXANDER is SO long, I'm going to save it for the weekend when there is NOTHING on TV that I'm interested in.

And another blisteringly hot day here, too. We had a big thunderstorm last night, but all the rain did nothing to cool things off. When friends have told me how cool things are in other areas of the country, I look at our predicted temperatures for the week and see nothing but highs in the high 80s and low 90s. Still summer down here!

Yes, they are about as awful as anything could be. I've passed four of them since age 30.

A friend of mine in high school passed one when he was in his early 20's. They had to give him an epidural to help him pass it without so much pain. He said it was the worst pain he could have possibly imagined. ::Knock on wood:: I've not had one yet and I hope to NEVER have one.

I do have a story that would make all of the men at HHW.com wince and cringe, but I won't share it in mixed company. I'll give you a hint, though...just think ZIPPER.

A fellow kidney stone sufferer and survivor gave me insight on how I could remain at home (rather than heading to the emergency room) and be able to pass a stone (provided it wasn't an oversized one that needed surgery). The last two I've had I passed at home and didn't require me being pumped full of Demerol.

Well, I have a lunch date, so it's off to the shower now to get cleaned up. Will be back later.

If you're going to watch Bunuel and haven't seen much of his work, I recommend starting with The Discreet Charm of The Bourgeosie, which has a lot of LOL sequences (the dinner party, especially, is quite droll) and an almost comprehensible storyline.  

Oy, did we have a busy weekend.  Adair and I did a fund-raiser Saturday for the theater company where the Bacharach show played.  Classic music director story that Jose and Larry at least will appreciate.  I'm standing off to the side and some guy walks up to me and starts to say "Great piano playi--"  He gets that far, sees Adair standing behind me, and I am forgotten like a piece of trash on the highway.  He moves directly onto Adair to shower her with praise without even finishing his sentence to me.  

Yesterday after work we did three hours of house hunting.  Oy and vey.  Although we are getting to see a lot of tony neighborhoods I've never been in before.  Then a Tigard Pops picnic and then dessert at some friends' house who are leaving for Yellowstone next week and wanted our advice on what to do and where to stay.  I need a vacation.  Again.  

Gotta watch L'age D'or if you're digging into Buñuel. Just for sheer 1930s audacity.

Shall I relate the story of the time I punched myself in the cajones?  It is theatre related.

I'm quite sure there's a splendid punchline in there somewhere about TCB doing it alone, but I'll leave it for others (possibly TCB himself) to work out.  

I love how we constantly reference TCB, when the fact is we are all just as foul at heart!  

An NYC friend whispered it to me, but perhaps it was just wishful thinking.

Mr. Howard Kissel of the Daily News shares that same wish. In his review, he wrote, "A bare stage would have been fine. At least it wouldn't cost much to tour. And I see no reason why it shouldn't hit the road immediately."
