I also got in the first episode from Season 2 of MURDER SHE WROTE. This episode introdyced Len Cariou as MI-5 agent Michael Haggerty.

You have to give Angela credit. She made sure her friends got plenty of guest shots on her series during its twelve year run.

DR Matt -

If Richard Deacon could replace Roger C. Carmel in MOTHERS-IN-LAW

If Donna Reed could replace Barbara Bel Geddes in DALLAS

If Dick Sargent could replace Dick York in BEWITCHED

Etc.

Maybe they think they're safe playing fast and loose with guest stars.

JOEY had a particularly pathetic episode tonight in which ever the dim-bulb Joey overhears two druggie stagehands using the euphamism "chocolate milk" for marihuana, but naturally he REALLY means chocolate milk and starts overdosing on it. Naturally, all his family and friends think he's overdosing on grass.

And this is supposed to be funny!

No wonder they're giving this show a nice long vacation.

Why, may I ask, do you still watch it if it's so consistantly unfunny?

Yep, it's been done in movies, too, with James Bond, for example.

But we DO notice.

Because not every episode is as lousy as this one. A few of the episodes have made me laugh, and part of it has to do with my leftover devotion to FRIENDS.

The saddest, strangest replacement (and perhaps the most tasteless) was when actress Barbara Colby was murdered during the first season of PHYLLIS and they decided to continue with the character.  I thought the series just had bad karma after that decision.

And Judith Lowry playing Mother Dexter also died which took a lot of the sarcastic humor out of the show, too.

Love it.

If Bears Ruled The world.

Oh, NO... don't say! Some sheperds down south of France just can't stand them because of their killing the sheep! Them and the wolves!
You see, Nature and business don't always mix!

If bears rulled the world then it'd be unbearable! ;) :(

I'm resisting the temptation to work my way up to post #900 with awful bear puns.

I'd do it, but I think there's a Bear Clause in the subscriber agreement.

When I left work tonight (at about 7:15 p.m.), I had to scrape frozen condsation from my car!  It was very cold and I wasn't prepared with a heavy enough coat! :o

I have indeed caught up.  Got distracted for a bit, but I finally made it to the end.

Of course, the happiest of birthdays to dear BK.  I hope you had plenty of happiness and cake.

Was it vixmom who was talking about Walking In The Air a few weeks ago?  I'm singing it in a concert this weekend, and I can tell her how to get the music if she wants.  That is, if it's the same song...

Heading downstairs now for bed.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the evening and that bad weather doesn't make things too desperate for those who have to get out in it tomorrow.

Good night!

We had snow last week.  Once the south Puget Sound gets snow, that's usually it for the season...at least, that's the way I remember it...and want it to be. :)

Back from a very good rehearsal.  Adjusted some blocking from last night, and got to the crucial point of act one - only about ten minutes more of the act to go, but it's very complex.  We did the entire beginning of the complex part and I think it's coming out very well, although I'm sure I'll be finessing it a lot.

Tammy and her mum had a birthday cake as a surprise - we all ate of it at our break.

Good Evening!

Well... I should be in bed by now...  I didn't leave the theatre until 11:00 tonight, and I was already pretty brain dead by the end of the IDR earlier tonight - which went extremely well! - and I was very tired and ready for bed once I got home....But once I looked outside and saw the snow...  Well... I feel like a kid again, waiting and hoping for a snow day.

*And the snow really is coming down at quite a clip right now.  I swear, the road outside was covered with a good dusting in just the span of about 10 minutes or so.  Big ole flakes.  The current forecast is for anywhere between 4-8 inches - with sleet and freezing rain thrown into the mix too.  Needless to say, it's going to be a messy rush hour.  At least I don't have to be at theatre until Noon.

And, yes, the final dress rehearsal went very well.  -And, actually, it was basically our only full dress rehearsal - lights, costumes, sounds, orchestra, etc.  According to my stopwatch in the pit, the show ran just about 2 hours and 20 minutes - and that was with the intermission!  The last two big shows at Arena - South Pacific and Camelot - ran close to three hours.  It will be nice to be able to be home by 11:00.  :)

This weekend will be the killer.  We have another tech rehearsal tomorrow/today from 12-5, and then our first preview (paying audience) tomorrow night at 8:00.  And then we have the same schedule on Saturday.  And then two shows on Sunday.  Whew!

-I was thinking of heading back up to NYC on Monday, but I have a feeling I'm not going to have the energy to do so.  And I also have to be back by 11:00 on Tuesday, so... -Yes, the "joys" of previews.  So, I think I'm going to head down to Richmond this Monday, and then to NYC next Monday, the 19th.  -That's the plan for now.

...And my parents made it back safe and sound from the Philippines earlier today.  And, as usual, they brought tons of Filipino "treats" - polvoron (in different flavors), various candies, "milk" candies, the fried corn kernels with garlic, etc.  In other words, foodstuffs I would really like to dig into, but which I'm resisting right now.  I may treat myself to one of the polvoron sometime this weekend - who knew that rice flour, sugar, cashews and shortening could taste so good?!!?

;)
