Francois, should I put the link for the clip here or should I send you the link for downloading it...

Yes, I don't think Bruce or Guy Haines'll mind if you put the link here! ;)

Thanks!

I remember when personal would say, "I have a swimmer's body" and I would write back "Greg Louganis' or Shelly Winters in the Poseideon Adventure?

And that's my last Shelly Winters joke.

I have been listening to the cast (?) album of  ClowAround. (A show that closed out of town)

The music that they used for the intro to the video promotion was Berlin's There's No Business Like Show Business.  Which had the lyrics "Even with a turkey you'll know will fold"... How prophetic. It opened and closed in Oakland, CA after 14 performances.

Shelley Summers walks into a bar and she's a giraffe behind the bar. The giraffe says to Shelly, "I bet your suprise to see me" and Shelly says, "Sure I am. What happened to the horse?"

The big bad ol' storm lasted about an hour - the sun has been intermittent ever since.

All the major papers were there last night - the Times, Daily News, Variety, etc.  Have no idea when the reviews will hit.  Tonight we have the LA Weekly and a few others, and tomorrow Backstage West.

Favorite Shelley Winters moment and I actually saw it! (June 20, 1984)

She was a guest on The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson. The guest before her was Annie Potts. She was talking to Johnny and she turns to Annie and tells her she looks familar. Annie says we did a movie together and that Shelley played her mother. We had a big scene together in the cementary. Shelley says "Oh that was you? You are much better looking in person!"

Saturday evening greetings!  This first day of my vacation has been lovlier than lovely.  Started out at the stroke of midnight, when the ESPN2 broadcast of the US Figure Skating Championships finally began and I stayed up to watch the whole thing.  Most exciting for me was the bronze medal in ice dancing for Ryan O'Meara and his partner - one set of Ryan's grandparents live here in Middletown and are great folks we know from church.

After a little sleep, I did some pre-vacation errands, then DH Richard and I went to a PR event for our local public library at a nearby coffee shop, went out for lunch, and did more pre-trip errands.  Took a short nap, watched more skating, and am now getting serious about packing during the interval before the ladies' skating final.

Wasn't someone asking about the differences between the east and west coast live versions of Will and Grace?

Here is the link that shows the differences

Re my earlier post, about Fletcher cutting his ear.

Fletcher, the deaf Dalmatian, somehow caught his ear on his crate, and put a huge gash in said ear.  He was bleeding all over the place, and when we tried to catch him he thought he'd done something wrong, not to mention when we finally did catch him and tried to put pressure on his ear that just hurt that much more and the thought we were trying to punish him...

Does this sound a bit messy?  Let's just say he looked like a extra from Sweeney Todd.

We called the vet's office, let them know we were coming in.  I called work, let them know I'd be late, then got ready, putting an extra layer of clothes over my work clothes so I wouldn't look like I belonged in the meat department instead of a cashier.  Yup, when we got to the vet's Fletcher kept insisting on running around, scared by this point.  It took four of us to hold him down while he had a muzzle put on him and a temporary bandage on his ear.  Then they took him to an operating room, and der B drove me to work.  I was late by just half an hour, and busy as all get out.

Finally, der B picked me up after work, and Fletcher's in the car with him.  The ear looks great; we can hardly tell where the stitches went in.  He's still groggy from the sedatives he was given, of course.  But he's going to be fine.

Now we just have to get him to lose weight, something like forty pounds!
