Quizno's is relatively new in Canada, and I've yet to try one. A newish neighbor was sent here to help get the Canadian franchises set up. Her husband once promised me some coupons, but he hasn't come through with them. The family will again soon be moving. Should I push for the coupons?

I was never a big Van Johnson fan, and I was frankly a bit disappointed when I learned that I was going to see him in La Cage, but he was absolutely wonderful in the show and the rapport between him and George Hearn was magical.

Sneaking a post from MTI...

Today I met Ms. Jeanine "MODERN MILLIE" Tesori and Tony "ANGELS IN AMERICA" Kushner. They were here for a meeting that I assume was in regard to CAROLINE, OR CHANGE--their new show. I'm guessing that we'll pick it up since we have all of Jeanine's other stuff. It was nice to meet them. Zina was here today, too....not Xena...Zina.

I have all of my playbills...even the ones from tours that I saw in Louisville. Most of those are still back in Kentucky, but I have all of my Broadway Playbills at my apartment (I've seen over 80 shows in two years...I think that's pretty cool). My most prized ones are the Opening Night Full Color Cover of DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES and AMOUR. I also have two of THE LAST FIVE YEARS (in color) and URBAN COWPOKE, all of the Kennedy Center Sondheim Festival Playbills as well as BOUNCE! Oh! And I have THE VISIT from Chicago, starring Ms. Chita Rivera. I think another of my most prized Playbills is from the London stage production of BUGSY MALONE starring a young Catherine Zeta-Jones. I'll see if I can scan that one...

I think I'm coming down with a cold. I'm chugging orange juice whenever possible, and I know I need some sleep...I hope I don't get sick. And I wish these d@!$ed phones would stop ringing!!!!

Tomovoz: thank you for your comments, and, no, I was not frightened away by an imminent NW H/K gathering. I think it would be great fun!! BTW (have we discussed this before? Probably), I have the Good Old Bad Old Days programme, too! I saw it the summer of 1972 (1973? oy) when I was in Merrie Old England. I wish to heck they'd release that on CD!!

Jane: We're up high (well, high for Portland at about 600 feet) so we have probably 10 inches to a foot. Unfortunately it's changing to sleet and freezing rain now. The good news is I've had a blast driving around in the 4 wheel drive SUV we got last year. The bad news is the Portland hoi polloi who barely know how to drive in sunny weather continue to attempt to drive today with 2 wheel drive and no chains. Some idiot lady this morning was going about 2 mph in front of me and then just stopped in the middle of the street with no warning! When I had the temerity to give her a little toot on my horn (not even a bonafide honk I might add), she rolled down her window and flipped me off with her elegantly gloved hand.

I've been watching some of the non-stop Seattle news coverage of the snow. I know there are some real traffic messes, but I do have to chuckle some when they do non-stop coverage for the 2-1/2" (of snow, people!) in Seattle. Over on my side of the Cascades, it's been snowing lightly for about 3 hours now, but only about 1/2" (of snow, people!) so far. Supposed to get 6-8" (of snow, people!) later in the day.

"Good Morning America," "The Today Show" AND CBS's "The Early Show" were all pre-empted and the local Seattle stations had nothing but coverage of the snow storm. They didn't even show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"! How rude!

I also have a swell postcard signed by Marlene Dietrich. Somewhat theater-related, Ira Levin inscribed all his books (first editions) to me, none more wonderfully than the half-page inscription on the first of Rosemary's Baby (this was when we first met about recording Drat! The Cat! I told him I wouldn't begin the discussion until he signed the book). I have many wonderful Tony Walton items, too.

Yes DR Ron - you are correct all three times. And I agree with DRMattH - Ann Miller was so much fun and she just loved the audience. She wasn't a GRAND DAME MAME and seemed more in tune with her little Patrick, but she said all her lines and did some fine dancing and winked at us a couple of times - fun!

And Constance Bennett (of course I was only seven) but she was every bit the elegant lady who wore so many costumes, I got dizzy, and I was so jealous of Patrick when she took him away at the end....and she was beautiful as well! No Carroll Baker, you know, but elegant!!! And she too stood out back of the theatre in Cleveland and talked to everyone, answered questions, and asked people questions back....LOL...I don't remember why I didn't have my program signed, probably just stood there with my mouth open like Sally Field!

I have the NEW FACES movie on tape, and I know they identify each of the people, so I could put that in tonight and tell you if you're interested.

But seriously, if you are continuing to feel blue you really should see your doctor, it is terrible to be down in the dumps for too long of a period of time! He can make it so that it is easier to deal with what is upsetting you.

I actually don't buy much on ebay, and what I do buy is usually for the guy. But I did but the 2 charms. Only like $10 for both with shipping. I figure if $10 will make me feel better, it is worth it

I did get outbid by like 2 seconds, which made me mad. Cause my computer was really slow. And I would have won. But I ended up getting something very similar for much less.

As for seeing a doctor. Well can he cure love blues?

I do have minor anxiety attacks. And I have pills for that. But I don't really like pills. Thanks for your concern though. I appreciate it.

Nobody cares about JUNIOR hockey anyway... (cue my brother who has probably YET to stop weeping and saying variations on the classic Canadian hockey fan line "we wuz robbed")

I will admit it was funny yesterday morning when I was at work looking over the major canadian newspapers' websites that some of them actually had updates on the game (first story listed of course) every ten minutes. Now THAT is sports dedication
