DR td - Thanks for the pic of Doug Sills - He was hoot(!) to work with last summer during A Little Night Music.  And very nice to watch too!  -As was Danny Gurwin and John Dossett - how I still wish he had won the Tony for his Herbie in Gypsy.

That reminds me, BK, your "PASSIOIN JAZZ" CD is just about the best thing ever.  I dareto say that I enjoy it as much as the cast album of it.  I've bought it for several jazz folks and they love it!

Which reminds me, I picked up THE TROTTER TRIO's MICHEL LEGRAND cd the other day. . . .lovely. . .

DR td - Is that Jim Stanek?  -If so, he did have very nice legs in the FORUM revival...

Oh, could the BK connection be the fact that the OCR of FORUM was once issued on a BK-produced label?

I agree with you, DR TCB, about ASSASSINS being considered a new musical. It played two months at the limited seating-subscription selling Playwrights Horizon, never had an open ended run on OR off Broadway, so I think it definitely should be considered a new Broadway musical.

The Tonys are a Broadway award. It shouldn't matter how many other places a show has playedaround the country or around the world. When a musical plays New York for the first time in a venue where the run is open and tickets are available to the general public, that's its debut. Any other New York production could then be considered a revival, but this production never was offered to the public at large nor ran long enough to transfer to a theater where it could have had an open ended run. Therefore, I think it should be considered a new musical to Broadway and have its score considered as a new score.

However, I'm betting now that it won't be, and the score won't be eligible for Best Score either.

I think Matt said it better than I could have said it.

Jennifer, if you are also going to eliminate shows that have toured all over the country, how are going to decide between tours and shows that open out of town?  Hairspary originally opened in Seattle at the 5th Avenue.  Should it have been eliminated from Tony consideration?  What about Light In The Piazza?  Should it  be considered a revival if and when it makes it to Broadway?

Great pictures, td!  I just watched WHERE THE BOYS ARE.  As MR BK said some time ago, the retrospective is very short...and I think Miss Connie had had a bit of the grape or the grass - but it was fun.

And the commentary by Miss Paula Prentiss nee Ragusa is just the kind I love to hear.  She talks as she watches the movie......

Highly recommended to all fans of the movie or any of the performers!

That is indeed Jim Stanek, whom I knew from his days at Carnegie-Mellon.

And, the BK connection is far more personal than that, if you catch my drift.

Keith has to reconfigure the computer in a few minutes.  I only know that means I won’t be able to use it for a long time.

I hope the NEW option is back in action by then, otherwise when I return I will actually have to use my brain and remember where I left off.

hhmmm.. Well, I have my own "six degrees" or so to those pics then...

I just finished a production of CAMELOT with Matt Bogart playing Lancelot.

Matt Bogart is current dating/seeing Jessica Boevers.

Jessica Boevers was the Philia in the FORUM revival.

Oh, and I once worked with Jessica's mother a few years ago - she directed a production of the THE MUSIC MAN I was MDing.

Martin Mull was once adopted by BK?

I can't even figure out the personal connection, but I can't focus my eyes today.

The Passion in Jazz CD, as I said the other day, is one of those happy accidents where everything comes together - sound, performance, arrangements and temperament - to create perfection.  I'm told that at the Passion closing night party our
CD is what they played.

The Legrand CD was one I hadn't heard in a while, and while I enjoy it, I had some issues with the production side of it and even with a couple of arrangements.  Time does that, I suppose.  What LOVELY postings today - you're making my last day at this particular job go much faster.

Doug Sills seems like a very nice man and is a terrific actor.  He played Sherlock Holmes in a staged reading of my play THE EBONY APE at the Stratford Festival Theater in Connecticut.  It was a wonderful panache performance.

DR JRand, it looks slightly like Marion Ross from HAPPY DAYS (in a different costume than "Mrs C.," of course).
