Kenneth Turan had an interesting rationale for the victory of CRASH over BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN (and the other nominees) last night that made me feel a lot better once I read it.For those interested in reading it:http://theenvelope.latimes.com/awards/oscars/env-turan5mar05,0,5359042.story
Better late than never, I guess.
Well, as I said, you get to see the debut of Julia Murney as Elphaba. There are many people in NYC who would love to catch her on the road as Elphaba. And I know some people who are making the trip to do just that. -If that means anything. And if I didn't think that you should see the tour, I would not have played elf.
I should have put a in my post, because I'm afraid it sounded ungrateful. Wicked in Cincinnati will be wonderful, I'm sure, and our experience of it will be heightened by viewing it through the eyes of our stage-struck niece who had tears in her eyes when she read the promisory letter we gave her for Christmas. DR Jose has been an elf extraordinaire - if the papers are to be believed, we wouldn't have 4 Sunday matinee tickets waiting for us without his intervention
No, Jose, not late..."Great minds think alike."
DR Ginny - The was understood. No worries.Do you know if she'd like to go backstage?
Before I head back to bed, don't anyone let me forget that der B has arranged for our tix to Shenandoah at the Ford's Theater, in DC. I need to make sure of the date, and arrange for the day off at work. The Ford's is where der B and I saw Children of Eden, and first met DR Jose in person. We brought him roses. He told us about a very nice French bistro across the street, where we happily dined. We plan on dining there again. Jose is being blamed, of course, correctly and with pleasure.
All cleaned up now and ready to head out for lunch. I'm being fetched, so I'm just playing a waiting game.
Aren't we all, my dear, aren't we all.
For the class, my suggestion is the old HHW standby that we love to discuss....the Eleven O'Clock number, the best and the worst....why they work, why they are needed....Or title songs - some are sung by title characters, some are sung by the chorus, and some are sung by supporting characters....best and worst.
Does anyone here have Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 and Premiere Elements 2.0? I bought it them off of Ebay and was told they were "new" but when they arrived, I didn't get the book that goes with it.
JRand55, don't you think it might be time for some more Allison Hayes pictures of the week???Since you are at work today I think I will help out....this one is just for DR Rodzinski!
Wow! I just got an email about doing charts for baritone Rodney Gilfry, who played Stanley in the premiere of Andre Previn's opera STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. Well, I've been waiting for the phone to ring. Hoo and ray!

I am tired. The spiders and dust and stacks weren't too bad. It was the dead mice that got to me.
Your new avatar looks "alive" -- like the head could turn and follow me across the room.
the typing fingers are sore from last night...TCB, did you see the pics I posted of Liz last night? They are on page 41 i believe.
TCB, that's a very nice picture...but would you like it in it's original aspect ratio?
Well, sure, George, I guess; but this version does make me look skinnier.
My picture sure could use a stretchin'.
Thank you, George.Love, Porky Pig
