Well, you can rant away, but your bias is obvious, what with having a young daughter who is most certainly of this generation. As I said, there are exceptions to every generalization, and I painted my comments as generalization. We've had kids on this site who were exceptions - dear reader Jenny amongst them.
But, the kids I'm speaking of are the majority, I'm afraid, and I'm afraid, unlike dear reader Maria, that I HAVE gotten to see them up close and personal, as well as hear the tales, not to mention what I see and hear with my own eyes. Sorry, but there has NEVER been a generation of young people like this - yes, we're the adults and when we were that age compared to them we would still be the adults. NOT EVERYONE, Maria, oh, no, not EVERYONE. Just a lot of them.
I'm sorry, but a quick perusal at myspace and other boards only confirms what I am saying, and it confirms it loudly and clearly. Dear reader Maria's daughter is an exception. Would that there were more of them. One of my closest friends for the last few years is of that age, and let me tell you that as much as I enjoy the friendship at times, the other times I have to listen and watch this twenty-six-year-old girl (and I do mean girl) behave like she's going on fourteen, and it's not pretty, but it IS hip and now and happening and I did get a good play out of it.
