Cillaliz I forgot to answer your Radon question-sorry.  My poor children were exposed to it in two houses-it’s scary stuff.  Did you have a basement in your previous home?

Jane - no.  You just fill out the form and provide all the info they require, and then they check it - they figure if you know it, it's you.  Oh, and they also look at your old driver's license photo on their computer.

Don't give up hope, BK.  When I lost my wallet, it was almost a month before I was notified that it had been turned into the police department.

I went to the DNV site and discovered you can renew your license on-line.  If only Craig had known.  I think it is too late now & I’m not sure he had a record of his license number.

I lost my wallet and had gone back to the place where I last remembered having it but it was gone. Then, three days later, I got it back in the mail with a note that said "Be more careful."

So George Bush says that the gays, with their agenda, are ruining the institution of marriage.  That's funny, I thought it was the 50% divorce rate that was ruining the institution of marriage.

And I hope I taught you a lesson, FJL, by stealing it in the first place.

DR Jane, I will have to have the switch replaced.

And I noticed something: the stovetop I was supposed to get had five burners. This one only has four.

Cute. ;D

I was walking down the street one day & found Bryan’s friend’s wallet.  Another time I found the same wallet in our house.  Apparently this kid had a habit of loosing his wallet and having it returned to him.  I never did find out if he eventually lost it for good.  I couldn’t convince him to be more careful but I did get him to remove his social security card.

'evening, all!  DH Richard picked me up from work and we shopped (but bought nothing) at the sporting goods store next to the library.  We stopped in the University of Dayton neighborhood for dinner at Nothing but Noodles and dessert at Cold Stone Creamery, which we ate outside in the college summer school ambiance.  It's a lovely evening here in SW Ohio - cool, clear.

DR Cillaliz - yikes!  I wouldn't go alone to a hiking trail, unless I had a big dog along.  And congrats on selling the old house - that's a relief, I bet.

Ginny I go hiking alone all the time.  Of course I choose the locations I feel comfortable in.  For the most part I'm more concerned about falling or the wildlife than I am about a person attacking me.

DR Jane - when our son was 10 and we visited Devil's Tower, he watched the people climbing it for a long time and then said to me, "When I do something like that, you don't want to know about it until it's over, right, Mom?"  So, just tell me AFTER you've hiked alone and are home safely, OK?  ;)

Friends left us a surprise in our mailbox today, Cesar Milan’s book.  The book is very interesting, not just about dogs but about his childhood and life.

I’m off to read.

‘night.

TOD - I had nothing to contribute until I asked my DH and my DS.

DH's choices:  Kelly's Heroes, Hogan's Heroes

DS's choice:  Down Periscope

He was feral when we got him as a foster from the pound. He flunked adoptions. He loves me.

DR Ginny - Spirit Mound is really a big hill in the middle of a prairie field.  It isn't a scary hike and actually it wasn't the trail that was scary it was the guy in the  parking lot! That could happen anywhere.  I did have my cell phone with me as well as my camera.

DR Ginny - If I didn't go places alone, I'd never get to go anyplace.  You just have to be careful, which is what I did today.

It's 60 degrees here, and I couldn't be happier about that! Looks like we're going to have a spring after all. Just wonderful!

I finished listening to the commentary on the STAR! DVD. SOme of it came back to me as I was listening, but other parts weren't familiar to me at all, so I'm glad I listened to it again.

Then, I watched MARKED WOMAN. It's not as well known a Bette Davis picture as many others she did, but she's just as vital in it as she is in many of her other 30s melodramas: DANGEROUS, DARK VICTORY, JEZEBEL.

The transfer is fine though some shots are overly grainy, especially any time Mayo Methot is given a close-up or medium shot. Don't know exactly why her shots are so grainy when other parts of the picture aren't, but it did seem to work out that way.

I also watched the documentary on the making of the film. I was beginning to think that the talking heads weren't going to mention that this is the picture Bette did when she came back from the English trial against Warner Brothers which she lost, but they finally got around to talking about it. So, her fight for better roles landed her this; I'd say it was worth it. The studio didn't hand her much trash to do after she returned from that trial.

At some point tomorrow, I'm going to want to rewatch that Davis documentary that first aired on TCM and is now in this boxed set on a separate disc. I really liked that documentary.
