Cillaliz, you can be the cat lady and I'll be the crabby old witch on the corner who tells kids  "get off the lawn", "turn off that noise!" and won't give them  back their balls when they come over the fence.

A very bizarre law here in Pennsylvania--it's perfectly legal to sell fireworks, but you can't buy them if you are a state resident.

It's true!

So I could buy fireworks in PA even though as a New York State resident I am not allowed to transport them into my home state?

Could I set them  off in PA ?

How many people here live in states where fireworks are legal and how many in states wherre they are illegal?

They are not only illegal, they are stupid out here.

Well they appear to be stupid inthe hands of most amateurs!

Every year we have at least one story and usually several of someone, usually male, usually young, usually liquored up, who blinded himself/ blew off a body part/ burned down a house or injured an innocent bystander

The law in Iowa used to be that you could have them you just couldn't shoot them off...how dumb is that!  Now you can't have them either, but that doesn't stop anyone.

I had a client who was making home made fireworks and was unlucky enough to blow his fingers off in the process two days before Bush came to visit. They thought he was a terrorist and charged him as such. Lukily enough people knew he was just a goof ball making his own fireworks that I got the case dismissed.

Thinking of you - DR ELMORE....  Burning a bit of sage might help the problem in the house.

Glad you had lunch with Adam, MR BK.  Many thanks, I am sure he appreciated it.

It is 70 degrees here now, bad thunderstorms this afternoon and more expected tomorrow, but nothing.....right now.

DR MATTH - I watched THE CAT AND THE CANARY last night, and I enjoyed it.  Nice mix of scary & funny.

I don't know if it's patience or just getting in over my head and having no way out but to wait it out, but thanks.

Someone stole DR RLP's VALLEY OF THE DOLLS dvd?

Which two did they leave in the package?  Who couldn't wait to see Neely and Helen?  So many questions.

MR BK starts a new book!!  Sounds very interesting & filmable.

Speaking of crabby old witches, I watched WATERLOO BRIDGE tonight on TCM.  Boy, that Maria Ouspenskya was one mother, wasn't she?  And she didn't even get hers in the end.  Boo!  Hiss!

There's a new Fashion in Film exhibit at the Art Center here. Period costumes from film. Not really sure what they are. I'll have to check them out when I go to class Thursday.

If Maria and Vera Ralston had made a movie together - it would have needed subtitles....Arturo Cordoba and Pedro Armenderiz could co star....

Sorry about the missing VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, DR Ron. That is truly a bummer.

My gosh, all these friends are having trouble with shipments. My friend John was telling me his WILD WILD WEST shipment from Amazon never arrived, had to be declared missing, and Amazon put another in the mail for him. He was hoping it would come today but probably tomorrow is more realistic.

DR Cillaliz, I think Head On gets rid of ghosts, too.

Ah, shoot! I meant to record WATERLOO BRIDGE and completely forgot about it. Oh, well, it'll be around again some time. Might even be in a batch of DVD releases within the year.

No, this is the new one. Someone (not me) jammed the machine and it needed repair. We have the service contract now, so the fella was out there pronto.
