Spent the first hour of TV tonight watching a CLOSER episode from the first season. As always, loved the show.

Next was a rerun of LAW & ORDER on TNT. This was the one featuring Lucie Arnaz as a Martha Stewart-type mogul blaming her act of murder on the drugs she was taking to help her going through menopause.

About halfway through the BONES rerun, I remembered exactly what happened and who the murderer was. How lucky I did since the phone rang with my friend Jeff calling to give me the lowdown on his beach vacation starting tomorrow.

The new episode of RESCUE ME was filled with upsetting and disturbing scenes tonight, the opposite of last week's very funny episode. The season has only a couple more episodes to go, so things are heating up now and much of the lighter moments are giving way to the inevitable cliffhangers we'll be left with at the end of the season.

Watching ROPE....I had forgotten that Arthur Laurents' New York lover, Douglas Dick - whom he dumped for Farley Granger - is also featured in this film.

Of pop organists, my favorite is the rather square Ken Griffin. Probably have everything he ever did. Just dig the sound. Here's my favorite Griffin cover, I think this is a release from after his lifetime, but this cover, if you look at it, has a lot of subtext...

My God....I had forgotten just how funny that cover was.  It's not even subtle -- just who is cruising whom ??

When Bryan was little & we lived in Reseda there was a family pizza restaurant in the Valley that had a very large, and I mean large, organ.  MusicGuy do you know the restaurant I’m talking about?

Yes Jane......it was called something not-very-original, like "Pizza and Pipes" or something similar.  A fellow named Mike Ohman played there, among others.  And believe it or not, the organ was actually quite small.  It is just that when you can see some of the apparatus involved, it appears very large to the average person.

I'll bet Jane and I DID meet at the Kiru (Erro) in 1964 - I'll just bet we did!

Well then......you both should have just walked your little selves over to the Wiltern, and said hello.  We could have gone next door to the Thrifty (or Rexall ??) and had strawberry shortcakes with ice cream and extra strawberry juice so that it soaked into the shortcake.  That's what I did after my concert!

In honor of Ben and Ant's recent anniversary, here is a photo Ant recently sent me of when they came up to our neighborhood a couple months back. This is at the Cloisters, which Project Runway viewers will recognize because Tim does a little promo spot up here.

DR Rodzinski -- Do you live up in that very north part of Manhattan?  A very dear friend of mine (who happens to be one of the best "society" pianists in the world) bought a neat stand-alone house up around 159th or 165th.  We went on up to the Cloister and had lunch last time we visited.

G'night DRs........time to turn down the bed, and watch Sugar attack Kerry's pillow corner.  It's a nightly ritual, and she always acts like it's the first time she has ever done it!  I think there is a great lesson about enjoyment in watching her.

Goodnight, elfish and supple BK.

Well, I did something stupid today. I was taking my DH's car to be repaired. They had some trouble getting it to start during their vacation last month. So stupidly I stopped at Starbuck's for a cup of coffee to enjoy while it was being repaired. And now the car won't start. I walked home from Starbucks, then drove my car back twice to try to get it started again. Nothing.

I hate when that happens....

No, I don't think that was it; I ordered the strong coffee, then the gentleman asked if I'd ever tried espresso, which I had not. So he gave me a complimentary espresso. I am still bouncing.

Maybe I should have ordered decaf.

Nah... Espresso is good, it keeps you on your toes..

Funny thing after I read Laura's comment, I was watching from Classic Jack Deveraux clips after Jack kidnapped Jennifer and he told her to hang on to his hose...
