No mousse here - Skip's making his world-famous almond cookies.

No baking here!  The old stove, which was old when I bought my house 27 years ago, has given up the ghost. It's now at the street, waiting for those type of people who make large appliances disappear in the dead of night.

It made me kind of sad to see it sitting there on the curb, and to think of the meals it had produced for gatherings of friends. I sang "Goodbye, Old Girl" to wish it farewell. It is now probably glad to be leaving.

Let me just invoke good old Rodney King..."Why can't we all just get along?" :o ::) :P

And for the record...before it becomes one of these Internet myths that morphs into fact...

Edisaurus - Duh!  I just got it! Loesser and Finch (a J. Pierpont reference)

Gee..I made an even more obscure pun than I thought! I was just going for Lesser/Loesser, which I figured DR Charles would appreciate. You are far clever than I!

Edisaurus, did you get to meet any of the Music Man folks, or were you just handed all the footage?

That's more like it, FJL my dear, and François, my dear--and I do mean my dear!

Bad puns!

Horrible puns!

Puns that will drive lesser men screaming from the room!

That's what this site is all about.

And let there be no groaning at the bar.

Oh but we've all read about your "hearty meals with BK" in the National Enquirer, but, not being cads, we refrained from mentioning that, Sister Anorexia!
We have style here! Sometimes! ;)

Just handed the footage, the curse of being an editor. My husband gets to meet all the people, since he's a location sound mixer. But he also gets to go on death marches through 110 degree heat in Panama and wade thru water with his recording gear floating in a styrofoam cooler and gators brushing against his legs, while I stay in a dark, air-conditioned room, honing my craft. Like a sniper. And I get to talk to people about singing to my stove who possibly might not think I'm insane.

I did hear some interesting stories that *didn't* make it into the doc---some that shouldn't be repeated. Yee Gods!

Old puns, rare puns
Puns that bored an ancient kingdom
New linguistic wonders from days of old
Puns that leave 'em groaning
Puns that leave 'em cold

It's very simple,
No angel choirs.
But we have stereo and very open fires.
Caruso sings there,
Salome swings there,
In my home sweet heaven.

I may actually try to write the notes early, post them early, and get to sleep by ten - but then again, I may not because I tend to not be able to sleep at that hour.

Good Evening! once again...

-Back from dinner - Chinese - but I ended up ordering their version of Pad Thai, so.. ??  In any case, it was very good.

-Back from Whole Foods - needed some food for my brief visit back to the city.

-Back from Starbucks - I made a Java Chip Frap my dessert.

And, now, I read and surf and post.

I think Kyra does a wonderful SOuthern accent, but as someone born and raised in the SOuth, I do hear it slip from time to time. It's usually just a word here and there like a "can't" will slip in instead of "cain't," but I probably didn't notice it the first time around myself. It takes watching the shows over and over to catch the tiny little slips that happen and even then they only occur once in a blue moon.

The show is really so FUNNY, apart from some terrific drama and some clever mysteries. The characters surrounding Brenda are SO interesting and fun.

I finished the first disc of GREY'S ANATOMY shows (5 episodes). Of those five, three were totally new to me, and terrific entertainment they were, too.

I do wonder why they've desaturated the color a bit out of the shows. Just slightly, but the credits are in full, richly saturated color and then the episodes are toned down a bit and are on the cool (blue) side of coloring.

Watching it each week in high definition, I hadn't noticed any desaturation, but it seems very noticeable to me with the DVDs.
