My cough is back with a vengeance.  Or maybe it was never completely gone.

Quick, gargle three times with some Beetlejuice!

elmore, I have to import the CDR into iTunes and then burn you a copy, so it probably won't go out until tomorrow.  And you'll have to understand that the levels between tracks haven't been smoothed out yet (some louder than others, some softer, etc - that will all get done in mastering, as well as the final layer of sound EQ, as always).

Dear Friend BK, I was just trying to push you into finishing your notes, in a subtle way of course!

Nonpareil is when two lines gradually come together and intersect rather than staying side by side until infinity.

Jrand:  Mine was 91.  It didn't matter what year you were born.  If you were 18 and over, it was based on your birth date...to the best of my recollection

Ah .. I was thinking they did it anew each year.  My 19th birthday was the first time it was done.  8)

Helen was the last CD successfully completed. Did you want the songs from "It's Trad Dad"?

We had ten folks here, and two left without posting (I will not name names) and the others are just sitting there like so much fish.

Sorry, BK, I've been entrapped in another window revamping the PowerPoint for the Grantseeking Basics class that I teach once a month.  Didn't want to use the same old slides in a brand new year!

Are you trying to think of a Holloway Sucker?

Good Afternoon!  -Again...

Now that I've got everything in order here at the apartment... Now I can head out...

And, yes, DR Jrand - I have been taking pics over the past few days.  With a new camera!  (Another Christmas gift.)  I just need to transfer them over to my computer.  And then I shall post.

OK.

I have bakeries to sample and chocolate shoppes to peruse.  ;)

DR FJL- Hope your cough goes away soon.  Alas, I know a couple of people who've been dealing with whatever they caught for a couple of weeks.  Apparently, it goes away in about a month... :-\  But at least it goes away.

My gosh it is cold here today. We have been having such warm weather (a few days ago it was 10C, 50F). But today i just saw it was -19C with windchill. I think that is around -10F or some other ridiculous temp.

I liked Helen's songs and the guy...was it Craig?  I really liked their duets, the other songs were okay.

I keep thinking what would have happened if EMI Capital had gotten Helen's recording of IT'S MY PARTY out before Mercury hit with Lesley Gore's version?  From what I've read, it was ready, they just didn't push it and so Helen NEVER made it in the US....what was it, one song at number 100 for one week.   And who knows how many POP stories there are like that out there?

Craig Douglas - he did mostly covers of USA artists but had a pleasant voice.
He only had one hit here "Time".

All packages shipped, including the videotapes of The Brain - if they were to lose them, I would make a good deal of money.

Maybe we should all watch a Vera Ralston movie today.  Might make us feel better about the state of entertainment.

Well, if we kidnapped an "in the process" young man on his eighteenth birthday and treated him to a different environment for three years, then returned him home, he most likely would have matured (in some fashion or other).

The best intentioned parent living in an economically deprived neighborhood has a very rough time helping his son "grow up" as we would like. Placing the youngster in an environment where he is regularly subjected to positive adult male role models is likely to help.

I think most 18 year-olds can benefit from a change in environment - they have to get away from the family cave to complete the maturation process.

I agree that the Army is taking too much credit for a natural growth process.

Even if the Military had no effect on a young man, his Dad would view him in a different (generally more positive) light when he returned.

At a recent meeting at work, someone pointed out the difference in ads based on who their targetting- one showing a young man of color joining the armed services to escape his ghettoized neighborhood and move on to something better. The other had predominantly white soldiers talking about how great it felt to save people.
