Rack-of-lamb anticipation's a delicate art,
Playing a role,
Aching to start,
Keeping control
While falling apart.
Rack-of-lamb anticipation is good for the soul
But it's bad for the heart.
If it's falling apart, it's been cooked too long.

We watched three episodes of Monk and could see nothing but stupidity.  The show did not find an audience here in OZ.

We watched two seasons & an occasional episode here and there.  The show had so much potential.  We kept waiting for some kind of growth, they just went for the stupid laughs, such a shame.

WFO-Gosh it was nice to read your post, so glad you and Joe are having a wonderful time.  It warmed my heart to read the reception Joe had on his return.

I just watched the cutest film which I had tivo'd off TCM...DETECTIVE KITTY O'DAY (1944). It starred Jean Parker as a secretary whose boss is murdered. She and her boyfriend (Peter Cookson) investigate. It was very funny.

Now I think I will watch the sequel, ADVENTURES OF KITTY O'DAY (1945). That Jean Parker is so pretty and is quite a hoot! Peter Cookson is sort of pretty too!  ;)

DIL APNA PUNJABI starring my new favorite singer Harbhajan Mann.

Should you so desire, you can watch the trailor right here!

MBarnum-Do you have snow?

The snow is mostly melted here, good thing since the temps are going down to 7 degrees tonight.

DR LAURA did you hear the Cottonwoods singing "Tammy"?

All I heard when I was among the cottonwoods was geese honking.

My favorite singer/guitarist, Glenn Tilbrook, was playing at a new club tonight close to where I was working today.  I called the 5 Spot at lunch to find out when the show started. "Doors open at 8:30". I asked if I needed to go there and pick up tickets in advance. The woman said no...there would be plenty of tickets. I got there at 8:45 and they were SOLD OUT!  Several other couples said the same thing happened to them. There was a line of people outside in case seats became available but at that point I was so tired from a long week of work that, even though I always see him when he's in town,  we just left. I had never been there and didn't have any idea of the size of thee place, so I thought it must be huge.

I was PISSED!!

I did go over to the other post place to meet a kid just starting college who is interested in editing and spent a few hours showing him the process by which we work. There was a big box of Brain tapes waiting for me. About 20 of them. Ye Gods!

Well, cowabunga, it's COLD!!

I just came from a lovely afternoon with an old friend whom I hadn't seen for nearly 20 years, when i ran into her at Barbara Bosson's Christmas party a month ago. Rosanna is her name - she was great friends with Wally Harper - which is how I met him all those years ago. Old friends... pure gold. They knew us when...

We each have a copy of a concert we did together back in 1976, with Wally at the piano. Wow.

Rosanna understudied the lead in Half a Sixpence on Broadway a long time ago. She went on a few times, opposite a very young Joel Grey... years later, I did Silverlake with Joel.

Rosanna's daughter is a television writer, the royal offspring of a very famous TV writer/producer, may he rest in peace.

I started my evening with SUPERMAN II: THE RICHARD DONNER CUT on Blu-ray disc.

Let me say at the outset that I MUCH preferred Donner's SUPERMAN II to the theatrical Richard Lester's SUPERMAN II. What a treat to have Marlon Brando's performance restored and to be SO effective! Revelatory!

The Blu-ray disc seesawed in sharpness, just as SUPERMAN I on standard DVD did. Some scenes have a dreamy haze placed over them while others are sharp and clear, so Blu-ray accentuated the haze as well as the sharpness when the haze was missing. Sound was surprisingly strong for a film this old.

Greg and I drove around after missing the concert, listening to the Wonderful Guy CD. That made me feel a little better. At least I got to hear some good music, just not live.

And "1900"---a good movie...and a good number of posts.

I think I have mentioned before that Tommy Steele was my first official crush!

Next, I watched the documentary on the restoration of Donner's cut of the film. Interesting but it could have been twice as long. Fishing out all the bits and pieces of video and the audio tracks reminded me of the search to put A STAR IS BORN back together.
