Wednesday, February 07, 2007 NEW YORK — In the sensitive post-wardrobe malfunction world, some are questioning whether a guitar was just a guitar during Prince's Super Bowl halftime show.Prince's acclaimed performance included a guitar solo during the "Purple Rain" segment of his medley in which his shadow was projected onto a large, flowing beige sheet. As the 48-year-old rock star let rip, the silhouette cast by his figure and his guitar (shaped like the singer's symbol) had phallic connotations for some.A number of bloggers have decried "Malfunction!" — including Sam Anderson at New York magazine's Daily Intelligencer. Daily News television critic David Bianculli called it "a rude-looking shadow show" that "looked embarrassingly rude, crude and unfortunately placed."...

For those who recall the Sunday meeting I attended, it was with the young woman who won the talent contest that I judged at Sterling's night club. Part of her winning that contest was performing an act at the club. So, she met with many recommended directors (including two of my fellow judges and myself). She just called and told me she would like me to be the one to direct her show, and I've said yes. It will be happening in early April. Not much dough involved but I like her and her energy.
DR Elmo ~ It must be the hydrogen ion content in the air afterall -- we're on at the same time! How you be doing?
That is wonderful! Perhaps you have discovered a new star!
DR MissKaren, I'm okay. I'm feeling a mite puny today and it could be stress or I could be finally coming down with something.I just got back from a lovely visit with Liz and Ann Callaway and Alex Rybeck, which was a great deal of fun, and now I'm back to my taxes.
I'm supping with Mr. Cason tomorrow evening.
DR Cason IS a star...Hollywood and Broadway just haven't caught up with him yet!
Hey, wait a minute! He's supposed to be making Cason a star, not some ol' girl!
But Cason is a star, is he not?der Brucer
