DR Jennifer - (I think.) To sort of answer your question from the other day...
I'm guessing the "secrecy" clause is much like any other Reality Show - or even Game Show - secrecy clause. Much like the "Survivor" contestants are not allowed to reveal anything until the episodes start airing - and even "Jeopardy" contestants are not allowed to share the news of the winning - or losing - until the episode airs weeks - sometimes months - later.
As for the isolation part - no e-mails, limited phone calls, etc. - that's just another way to protect the integrity of the show. The finalists are not allowed to lobby for themselves. -And/or badmouth other contestants. And, conversely, the producers want them to stay in a proverbial bubble to make sure they're not being affected by what "everyone" is saying about them.
