:P  We had the brilliant idea to perform the self-cleaning function on our oven this evening.  So far, we've had to disconnect one of the smoke alarms and it's making my throat feel like DR Cillaliz's.

Oh, no, Jane - this stove is at least 10 years old.  I just forgot that, when I was more on top of domestic things (before going back to work full time), I'd usually do this when we could have the windows open.

LOL-The self cleaning feature should improve with age, but then I have never stayed in a house long enough for my oven to be 10 years old.

I don't mind at all, DR DearReaderLaura.  You need some laughs.

My DH was out on a walk this evening. When he came home a few minutes ago, he asked if I was up to some visitors. He said that Mae-Ling and Wae-Ling were outside and they were asking to say hello to "Miss Loe-ah." I went out to say hello, and they were overjoyed to see me. We looked at the chrysalis and the chalk drawings, and I told them they could come to help plant the last six flowers in the butterfly garden. Then I sent them home with Mr. Goldstein for supper.

I needed that.

DR Jane, they said they were not going to renew his RV spot last week when I talked to them. They have ten RV spaces behind the bar -- I mean the clubhouse. Everyone there is transient.

What's for dinner tonight, DR S. Woody White?

And, more importantly:  what time should we arrive?
Uh... we went out for dinner.

The original plan was to go to Partners, one of our favorite local watering holes/restaurants.  But, this being February/March, it's also the time that a lot of Rehoboth places close up shop for a bit, take a vacation and get away from the lousy weather.  And that's what Bill and Gene of Partners has done.

So, we opted for a back-up plan, and headed back up the highway to Las Toltecas, the better of the local Mexican restaurants.  It's actually part of a chain, but at least we've some reliance of the food being reliable and authentic - the staff all speaks English as a second language, Spanish as their first.  (At the biggest competition among Mexican restaurants around here, Dos Locos, the one time we bothered going our waitress was Sweedish!  And der Brucer found the food so lacking in flavor that he had to add Tabasco to the beans twice!)

So der B feasted on a chimichanga and I had four enchiladas (one each chicken, beef, cheese, and beans).  I am feeling quite stuffed and satisfied right now.

I'm glad you have such sweet little neighbors to put a smile in your heart.

Odds are the man has moved on.  I expect saying so doesn't help, only time will do that.

Many happenings here at HHW - certainly makes even the longest day go more quickly.

Yes DR RLP - that is one of my favorite FRASIER episodes as well.

Fraiser:  You should see the view from the bedroom.

Animal Planet had a show about BORN FREE....and came up with a factoid I knew at one time, but had forgotten.

One of the cats playing grown up Elsa had broken actress Virginia McKenna's leg during the "rehearsal" phase, and shooting was delayed almost a month.  That was a dangerous movie to make.

And I am sad that I forgot to mention it when we were talking about movie/TV animals!  The fabulous John Barry score was a big help.  One of my favorite soundtrack albums as well.

LOL-The self cleaning feature should improve with age, but then I have never stayed in a house long enough for my oven to be 10 years old.

When I was in middle school (I think), the heating element the oven in my parents' house melted! :o My parents didn't know how that could've happened, until they realized that when my mom (who never read directions ::)) used the self-cleaning feature, she put it on the highest temperature and left it on for the longest amount of time.  It just eventually burned through the metal of the heating element and they had to have it replaced.  My dad found the instruction manual and they read about how the settings should be set.  They never had another problem.

When Sherlock snuggles in bed I don't miss my kitty so much.

Speaking of Sherlock…..  He is becoming very playful without our hikes to burn off some of his puppy energy, while I'm feeling lethargic, a bit depressed and fat.

Reading directions often makes a difference.  This is the 3rd winter we have had our SUV but it took this last big snow storm, & me almost going into a ditch…(not really, Keith had to drive the road before believing I wasn’t at fault  ::))….  to read the section in the manual about driving in slushy snow.  Once he turned off the tracking system & only drove in 4 wheel drive it made a big difference, enough so he could drive the road again.  Notice I said he, no way was I driving it again. ;D

Singdaw-Sherlock is a 7 month old Bernese Mountain Dog.  I will see if I can post a photo from this laptop.  If not I will have to wait until Keith is off the main computer.

Cilla-Sherlock isn’t any better.  There don’t seem to be any pressure points that hurt.  When he first gets up it is more obvious, he kind of bobs his head & walks funny.  Keith read the head is down on the sound leg & up on the injured side.  Until we read that we thought it was the left leg, now we think it is the right side that has something wrong.

Those are the biggest paws I have ever seen on a puppy. Or on anything, for that matter.
