Eric had a wonderful guest appearance on "Frasier" before he began co-starring on "Caroline in the city".  He was the new station manager and was "out".  Roz had the scoop and wanted to let Frasier know, but Frasier (as was his habit) began waxing  on and on about him, so Roz allowed Frasier to innocently set up a date with the guy.

The whole dinner -- with Frasier, Daphne (whom Frasier thought he was helping by setting her up with the station manager), Martin and Niles.   A very, very funny episode....and one in which Daphne had some fun with a strapless dress and a wired bra that was priceless.

I'm not sure if you mean Malcolm Gets as the guy everyone remembers.  He was the meticulous, fussy, curly-haired blond guy who Caroline hired to color her comic strips.  He, of course, was a "serious" artist and was always snooty-snoots over stuff.  They did develop his character to fall in love with Caroline...but to have another girlfriend, too., etc., etc.

I wasn't fond of either lead.  Love the neighbor, loved Lutes as the boyfriend, and loved "Charlie", the messenger guy usually on rollerblades.

Wasn't there some kind of fuss or orther about the guy who played the messenger?  I seem to recall that he was thrown off the show after the first season.

Tiny (as opposed to extra-large) MEDIUM spoiler

MEDIUM had one of those episodes that filled me with sadness that things just can't work that way in real life.

And now for something completely different!

Just had to share. :)

Why not share this from the same site

You should have gotten a couple of Gerbils.  Bryan had some and they were fun to watch.

Good afternoon to dear Esteemed, vexed, brilliant, and driven-mad BK --

When you were doing guest spots on some of the shows in the 70s, which show and studio had the best craft services and catering??  And what kinds of things did they have out?

To be honest, the craft services back then was non-existent - so I have no memories of any craft services tables until the 80s, and even then I avoided them like the plague.

S. Woody or der Brucer (can't remember which one asked) - I have very fond memories of the Merrily recording session.  My favorite is Vinnie thinking that Sondheim was the janitor (I put that anecdote in Rewind, a work of fiction).  I remember the sessions were grueling, but fun.  And I got Jonathan Tunick to change the button (last note) of Old Friend, because I didn't understand why it was a low button instead of a high button.  Sondheim was reading his NY Times when I said it, and after I'd spoken there was quiet in the room and Jonathan said, "Really?" and Sondheim's newspaper came down and he said, "Bruce is right."  I LOVED that!

I'm really tired, but it was a productive day, and best of all Margaret read the new forty-five pages, about which more in the notes.

... any craft services tables...

Having been to a BK signing, I assumed a "craft table" is where one found the cheese chunks.

Some reserach discovered:

IGN CAREERS: Craft Services

Quote
MEN AND WOMEN TOILING IN THE UNDERBELLY OF A BEAST TO MAKE ART, FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF CIVILIZED PEOPLE THE WORLD AROUND.

der Brucer

This article holds the record for the most erroneous uses of "who" for "whom" in  one sentence:

Quote
So, you wanna hear all the gossip on a Hollywood film set? And I mean all the greasy, meaty dirty-deedy secrets? Everything from who's sleeping with who to who WANTS to sleep with who and who's sleeping with who right now can be overheard and found out at the table with all the snacks. Yes, that's right, the Craft Services table is the center of everything on a film set, sometimes more so than the actual set itself.
