I also have been buying from Larry Edmund's Bookstore since waaaay back in the early 1980s when I first began collecting movie photos and lobby cards!

They were in walking distance of my hotel when I was in Hollywood last and so I popped over and got me some grand photos for upcoming magazine interviews and chatted with a couple of the clerks, who were very nice.

Also chatted with Raul Julia Jr. who was trying to find some memorabilia from his father's career.

Ughh the time change!
Edisaurus i have a question about something you mentioned yesterday. You said that you try never to put spoilers in the promos.

This is really left up to you?  I really despise when they give away stuff in the promos. Because either shows give away crucial plot points.  Or they mislead like crazy.

One other point, and maybe it's just me. I love The Closer.  But man i wish there was something at the beginning that showed each actor's name with their face.  Actually my real wish would be that they would also put their character's names.  There are just so many different police people. And i've actually watched very show. But I feel so stupid sometimes. Ever other show i can keep every character name straight. But for some reason I am really bad with this show. If you showed me each actor's face i don't think i could give you very many names off the top of my head!

The producers come up with a copy line and I put together a promo around that line. I choose the sound bites and the shots. Sometimes the powers that be hand down a dictum from on high that we will only hype the show with acclaim and it will be less of an"episodic" promo.

If it is episodic, I purposefully stay away from anything that might be a spoiler that would ruin the enjoyment of someone viewing the episode for the first time. I don't think I've ever mislead like crazy but I have incorporated plot points that are false leads within the show.

The show takes into account what the fans say. We all read the comments on imdb and  what is called in or written in to the TNT website.

It might be hard to keep the characters straight because they're usually addressed by their last names. You can see their profiles, character names and headshots on the TNT website:  http://alt.tnt.tv/closer/closer.shtml

and use the "Squad Profiles" button to refresh your memory.

DR Jose is in the air now (we hope, anyway!). I had a wonderful time visiting with him. Today was glorious; wonderful weather to have brunch outside. We tried a new place a few blocks from the edit place where I'm doing Brain surgery, so we did a drive-by to see if they were back up and running yet.

I always have eggs or cereal for breakfast, never pancakes, but the idea of ricotta pancakes was intriguiing, and they were very yummy! I didn't even use the maple syrup.

Usually there is at least a half hour wait to have brunch on a Sunday in Atlanta, sometimes an hour, and even at the places where the food's not that great. The place we went has not been discovered yet, I think (it's in a developing part of town within view of Jose's hotel) so we were able to walk right up and get a table.

That in turn, left us a little time stroll around the Carter Center gardens, which are right by the Highland Bakery.

The dogs Jose mentioned were Borzoi, and this couple had 4 of them! I have always admired these dogs; the owner said they were all rescued dogs and I couldn't imagine what idiot would mave mistreated these beautiful creatures. They were so sweet and gentle!

Imagine this, x 2:

Meeting DR Jose was the highlight of my week, too! He's such an interesting person, and we had lots to talk about, music-wise. I find his line of work so interesting! And as former military brats, we have shared many of the same experiences (and some of the same towns) in our youth.

IIt was, afterall, the Carter Library.)

Although this beautiful, serene place is downtown, there were only 5 other people there enjoying the garden. That's what I love about it, it's sort of a "best kept secret".

The people we met probably were democrats, true.

As far as the Carters, I've done quite a bit of work for them over the years. I edited most of the films shown at the library ("Waging Peace", etc.)  and have worked on Carter's Atlanta Project and America Project, as well as some of Rosalyn's health projects about depression and vaccinating children by age 2.

I admire them tremendously and am honored to have been a part of their initiatives.

Edi & Jose-Your brunch sounds yummy.  I began my diet today…”must be good, must be good…”

Borzoi’s are large dogs that need space to run.  Sadly people get a dog because it looks nice but they don’t have the ability to take care of the particular dog’s needs, thus the dog becomes a “problem”.

Jennifer I know how you feel trying to keep track of the actor’s names on some of the shows with large casts.  It is nice having the internet as a reference.

Before I go:

DR Jose, this is the book I mentioned: my friend Michael Roth's piano book of Randy Newman's music for film. Michael does a fantastic job with his arrangments; they are fun to play! Michael is working with Randy right now on his new score for The Frog Princess.
He contributed some music to Sacco and Vanzetti,  and plans to come to opening night either in NY or LA.

If friends would stop wishing "break a leg" there might be fewer actor's with large casts.

Note: they are known to be fond of cats - and I don't mean as hearth-mates!

I asked, just because they did seem so gentle, and the owner said that they can get along with cats but "you never know when their predator instinct is going to kick in".

So no borzoi in my future...I'll have to stick to goats!

If friends would stop wishing "break a leg" there might be fewer actor's with large casts.

Or if they said "break an arm", they would have smaller casts...
