We celebrated greatly DR Elmore...  Last weekend we had Irish fest and I played the bodhran for several sets. Great fun, I had not done that in a while. This weekend I was at a friend's neice's wedding. Being Irish, her neice had an irish themed wedding. The groom is originally from Ireland and they had a blessing read in Irish.

Have had a helacious week where i literally had to turn my schedule for four days this past week from my normal 330 to midnight to 730am to 4 and by the time you get home, you want to crash... I have also had some personal matters I have had to deal with including dealing wiht aunt vulture...

On Thursday, DBF and I made a flying trip by car to the Twin Cities where he wanted to do research for his dissertation at the MN Historical Society and I went along and did genealogical research. I am working on my line and on his line which goes back to England and Germany. He is a Puritan descendant. His ancestors settled in Barnstable County, MA. DBF leaves tomorrow for an interview in the county of Lost Angels at CSU- Dominguez Hills.

Also for some odd reason I cannot access the site from work. I am hoping it is a fluke for I can read  the notes but not the board.

My family immigrated from Ireland. They were actually English, but it's a long story involving Cromwell, and I don't know my history well enough to relate all the details.

My mother did all of our geneology research (she's a librarian, too) and found the name of the street in Ireland where her great-great-great-great(?) grandfather had had his grocery store.

I took her and her partner to Ireland last year, along with a few folks, and spent an extra day and rented a car so we could go to the town of Nenagh and walk down Silver Street.

Plantation Irish...

Mine are from County Donegal and from Ballymena in county Antrim.

DF Cassie is originally from Belfast.

Hi.  I just caught up to your post.

Sherlock is the same thank you.  He wants to jump & play & we do our best to keep him quiet so he doesn’t do more damage.

The surgery is set for April 6th.  Originally we just had an appointment for an exam on the 5th with the intention we would return to Portland if surgery is necessary.  I convinced them to set aside time for the surgery since the odds are he will need it.  We don’t want to drag this out any longer than necessary.

Vibes to Sherlock!!

The #1 hit on St Pat's day 1958 was "Tequila" which is not exactly Irish.

Close enough!

My favorite St. Patrick's day memory happened long ago when a catholic Church in EGF, MN had an irish fest. I got my first chance to see a set of pipes up close and personal. I even got to try the chanter.

Doesn't seem right that we shouldn't make it to Post #500 on St. Pat's Day -- what do you say, DR DCelt?  Should we take it all the way to #500 with hopes some more HHWers join in along the way?

Another bit of trivia:  I went to my first home owners association meeting today (all these years I have been trying to avoid those meetings) -- talk about Erg!   Lots of control freaks in this world... I was ready to make the motion that they change the name of our subdivision from Southview to Analview....
