...I really don't want to go through security until I have to. There's nothing to do in this airport.

We'll keep ya company, DR Cillaliz!

I guess we can't tempt you with any out-of-print CDs, then?    :)

So many new avatars!

JRAND, I quite like yours. Quite attractive and friendly. And it makes perfect sense that it's a bit fuzzy because you are MOVING, yes? I mean, being a dancer/choreograher and all. (My feeble attempt at a joke.)

DER BRUCER, yes, you look quite, quite fetching in your Pensive Thinker pose. But, now really, is it quite FAIR to other H/Ks to put up that avatar when you are unavailable after all? Hummm....

Good morning!

Beautiful morning here, but it's heating up again to a low-to-mid 80s high. No complaints. I'll be inside for much of the day doing various computer chores and, of course, watching some stuff recorded last night.

I hope those who are experiencing pain or afflictions (DRs Michael Shayne, TCB, any others I've omitted) feel better soon.

My phone has not stopped ringing this morning. Lots of folks have time on their hands and knowing I'm retired, they want to chit-chat. Ah, well, glad to oblige even if it got me on-line a little later than usual.

Uh, actually, I already put in my request. Most of my Cds are in the living room. I'm only culling my OFFICE today!

Since I'm taking my friend to the airport at 12:30, I should be able to get home and watch the two LAW & ORDER: CI and SVU new episodes from last night.

And, if I may brag a bit, one of my better projects in this house was the built-in in the living room. There was a recessed space that wasn't deep enough for books, but it just happened to be the perfect depth for CDs! Soooo, I had shelves installed with a cabinet below and it houses my CDs and all the stereo equipment quite nicely. I, of course, do not have a humoungous collection like many here, but it works for me.

singdaw, I think you missed most of the culling/declutttering posts. There are many of us here who are busy with these projects these days. Did you see the lyrics DR GINNY posted a month or so ago? They are to the Rawhide theme and hilarous. Weeding, weeding, weeding...

Any of you HHWers history buffs (yeah, yeah, I know -- you're all buff) ... in the nautical sense?

I'm working on a set design for Eugene O'Neill's one-act Thirst and it calls for a life RAFT, not boat, from an ocean liner from circa 1913.  I need a picture! ... der Brucer work the net for me and cut and paste a picture of a 1913 life raft, please!

Police Nab Washington's Alleged Panty Thief

Five Garbage Bags Worth of Women's Undergarments -- Weighing 93 Pounds -- Found at Garth Flaherty's Home

By DAVID SCHOETZ

March 27, 2007 — The five bags of undergarments discovered by police at Garth Flaherty's Pullman, Wash., home weighed approximately 93 pounds and contained an estimated 1,500 pairs of women's undergarments — bras and panties of all shapes, colors and sizes.
It was enough for Pullman police to arrest Flaherty, 24, and declare that they had finally found their suspect after a months-long panty-thief mystery that targeted the Washington State University college town.

OK - any HHW gal match this collection?

I am now set up in the food court area. I have to give Omaha credit, there are lots lof outlets near tables. The board still says the flight is on time, but I know better...the gate is empty, the plane isn't here, so it isn't going to leave in the next 6 minutes.

I find this story hilarious!

(1) but, why, Der B, must this be a "gal"?

(2) the collection my mother left after she passed away may have come close. She never threw out anything!

I drove by a terrible accident when I left Sioux City. Someone had been going the wrong way on the interstate and smashed into the cement rail at the beginning of a bridge.  It was right down the middle of the hood, the ambulance was leaving just as I arrived.   An hour later the radio said traffic was still backed up and they were still trying to get the car out of there

AHA! The website has my flight's estimated departure at 12:20 pm, but the board here still says "on time" what a joke. Glad I talked to the people at check in.

DR MISS KAREN...on the Titanic and I would imagine most other ocean liners in the 'teens, there weren't life rafts as we know them, but collapsible boats, with solid wooden bottoms and canvas sides that were pulled up and secured.

A little research on the Englehart Collapsible lifeboat should give you all you need to know.

A lot of information lifeboat and otherwise can be found here:
