While you NY and Georgia HHWers were having, and possibly are still having, a grand 'ole time at FJL, Skip, Dylan, and Toby's apartment, I was interviewing the delightful 1950s/60s actor Ron Hagerthy...if you have ever tuned in to a TV show from those two decades then you have seen his handsome face...he was in just about every show ever made! He really did work a lot...and in films as well...like TITANIC, I WAS A COMMUNIST FOR THE FBI, CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS, and the classic 18 AND ANXIOUS.

He also spent two seasons as Clipper on SKY KING.

He was one of those actors that played teenagers until he was nearly 40 years old! LOL!

You are the Margaret Meade of kitsch.

I've written a little over three pages, and shall probably do two more at some point, along with adding the rest of the detail stuff to earlier pages - that should add one more page to the two I've already added.

I think I'll shower now, get ready for the seder, and then do as many pages as I can before leaving.

Hmm... Although I guess I could also stop by "Piece of Chicken" on the way back uptown.  It's operated out of the kitchen entrance of Jezebel.  You can order a piece of chicken (fried), a piece of fish (fried), and some sides (mac'n'cheese, collard greens, etc.), and they even have cups of soup too.  And it's all pretty tasty.  Best off all, a piece of chicken (or a piece of fish, or a cup of soup) costs just a dollar!

Well, tomorrow night is the first night of Passover, so... Gefilte fish is more appropriate for a Seder than frahd chicken.

To all the Dear Readers who celebrate Passover.  Of course, if I would study my half of the Bible, I suppose the greeting applies to all of us; since Jesus went to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover.

Many interesting things in the basket, including two huge boxes of Russell Stover candies, many See's suckers, a box of Godiva truffles, Hershey's kisses in a Hershey's kisses ceramic jar, other Hershey products, some high-end hot chocolate and many interesting candy bars that I've never heard of.  I should be finished eating it all in about twenty minutes.  April Fools!

So, in other words, it is already gone?

I ended up rather enjoying RUMOR HAS IT. Not a great romantic comedy, but it certainly had some sentimental moments that were wistful, Shirley MacLaine was good for several big laughs, and I've always liked Richard Jenkins as a character actor, too.

More Gotham News:

In a continuation of his Eat Healthy New York program (recently kicked off by the banning of Trans-fats), Mayor Bloomberg announced a new initiative to ban the selling of all cookies, brownies and other "take-along" sweets. No longer will we have to witness chunky New Yorkers trailing Levain cookie crumbs as they saunter our fair avenues.

(The Italian-American Association successful lobbied for the exclusion of cannolis from the proposed ban.)

Next, I watched THE CRIME DOCTOR'S COURAGE, a okay 1945 Columbia programmer in the CRIME DOCTOR series. This is the first one I've ever seen. Reliable actors from the contract player list: Warner Baxter, Hillary Brooke, Jerome Cowan. Once you debunked the entire vampire scam, the murderer was easy to spot. I wouldn't mind seeing the other films in this series. I'll have to keep my eyes open for them to p[op up on the cable guide for TCM.

I completed my afternoon rewatching THE BEST OF EVERYTHING, that soapy drama with Hope Lange, Stephen Boyd, Joan Crawford, Diane Baker, and the teeth-gnashingly awful Robert Evans.

It's a nice CInemascope transfer, but IMITATION OF LIFE is a FAR superior soap opera.

Well, they called about 15 minutes ago and were 80 miles away. SO, I've vacuumed the house, put the screen door on the front door, first load of laundry is in the dryer - second load in the washer, guestroom bed has been stripped and made with clean sheets, cat hair has been cleaned off the futon so it's ready to turn into a bed, bathroom cleaned and kitchen counters are clean...whew!

I had a funny feeling I wasn't going to see Obama, I didn't realize I'd be cleaning
