Well, you've skipped the notes (April Fools!), the notes were filled with bile and vitriol (April Fools!), and now it is time for you to post until the cows leave home (April Fools!)

I also liked the Mel Gibson version of Hamlet...not so much for Gibson as for  the actress who played Gertrude...oh lordy I cn see her face and cannot remember her name,...she layed Robin Williams mother in Garp...

Try as I can, I find no reference to Glenn Close getting layed by another women in Garp.

George:

We took the youngest Grandlad to see Meet The Robinson's today - he was totally entertained!

Woody went right out and bought the CD of the score (mainly Danny Elfman with some Rufus Wainwright songs).

It was from the unrated version with extra scenes added by Bob Guccione.

Last night, the elder Grandlad joined us and we went to see The Last Mimzy; a very strange film, but enjoyed by all.

Last night Jose posted (on enjoying Happy Feet):

Quote
Umm... No.  Surprisingly dark.  A bit too long.  And kind of confusing - was this really marketed to kids?  Lots of mixed messages.

Again, we took both the Grandlads to see this one - they enjoyed it more than I did! We bought the DVD, and both kids put it on after we got them home late last evening and stayed glued to the tube. I think they are kept "tuned in" by the music and enjoyed many of the spectacular CGI action sequences. They did not, however, seem to get that emnotionally engaged by the film - unlike Bridge to Terabithia which had them both totally engaged (and the eldest Lad in tears at the end). He didn't want to leave his seat when the movie was over because he didn't want anyone to see that he had been crying.

For kids that are going to see SpiderMan, X-Men, and Harry Potter - Happy Feet doesn't seem so very dark.

Well, I haven't caught up with all of the posts from last night (note to self...I just reached page 13 ::)), but I'm going to bed.  I'm tired.  Good night, Der Brucer and Singdaw.  Sleep well!

I simply CANNOT BELIEVE that DR George broke his own cardinal rule and POSTED before reading all previous posts.  It MUST be April Fool's!

DR Tomovoz:  Yes, there is much lovely wordplay and lovely and lively music in Loving Repeating.  I highly recommend it.

One might say that listening to it makes one saltant.

So I gather that April Fool's Day is not the same thing as Switchies Day here at HHW?

Pity...

Long day today.

Two church services and two rehearsals [and, since I am up on only about 4 hours sleep, I fear I won't make it through the same sermon - twice].

Followed by an afternoon concert  [SwishySarah, it's a program of all Herbert Howells choral and organ music].

Followed by an evening rehearsal for next week [requiems of Fauré and Rutter].

So I will not have a chance to revisit here until late tonight.  At which point I will be pooped.  But solvent.

Happy posting, all you wonderful April Fools!

Latest Pet Food Recall Data:

Quote
Nestle Purina PetCare Co. said it was recalling all sizes and varieties of its Alpo Prime Cuts in Gravy wet dog food with specific date codes. Purina said a limited amount of the food contained a contaminated wheat gluten from China.

Also Saturday, Del Monte Pet Products voluntarily recalled select pet treats sold under the Jerky Treats, Gravy Train Beef Sticks and Pounce Meaty Morsels, as well as other dog snacks and wet dog foods sold under other private label brands.

Good morning, all!  I'm sleepy and want to go back to bed.  I didn't make it to Toyland yesterday, so I will go this morning, do some edits and head to a festive brunch with DR FJL, his talented partner Skip, and a group of bizarre people.

That is all.
