I should go to IKEA this week. I'm looking for something like this, but not at the $900 Restoration Hardware price!

Well, I believe Restoration Hardware's Warehouse Sale in Baltimore is currently taking place, so...

...she was carried out of the house a while ago kicking and screaming (literally) by her brother.

Indeed. Bloogie said I had to go with him while he bought new shoes. We were gone two and half and he never bought any shoes.

However, he did buy me a Cherry Coke and that's good enough for me.

I'd rather I get Cherry Coke than my brother gets new shoes.

Morrison Foundation reports:How the recocile this with the following on Schmidt & Jones
•   Shoestring '57 ( Ben Bagley Revue,1957)
•   Demi-Dozen (Julius Monk Revue, 1958)
•   The Fantasticks (1960)

I do not understand!

der Brucer

It is, of course, utter nonsense and simple fact-checking as you've done, proves that Schmidt and Jones are, in fact, the longest-running music and lyrics partnership in B'way history.  I suppose some pedant (as just happened on a message board) will say that Kander and Ebb have had more shows on Broadway, but that's not what the quote says or means - especially when the Morrison report states they met in 1962 and began writing then - which means clearly that they consider that the start of their partnership.

For Ask BK Day: Since you've sold so many things via Amazon, can you shed some light on their selection process for items that have been paired with ones you've sold? ("Better Together"...never seems to = "Cheaper Together!)

I mean...SACCO AND VANZETTI with THE ODD COUPLE SEASON II? I am mystified...

How they do these pairings has never made one or even two whits of sense to me.

If one considers MIRETTE Tom and Harvey's last show, that was 1998, so it's around a 46-year collaboration. Fred and John have about 42 years.

Not as long as Schmidt and Jones or Kander and Ebb.  I think they started writing a year or two afterwards, but I could be wrong.  Someone fact check.

I've been unusually "sore" the past two days.

I feel like I would had I been through a heavy workout.

I wonder if I'm being abducted by some fitness-fanatic aliens who put me through intense workouts and then dump me back into my bed!?!

LOL. All the ill effects of a workout without the fun, eh?

Question for bk - What is the new Kritzerland release?  Have you mentioned it?

Second question for bk - When you started the "other" label, you were on record as saying you wanted do strictly digital sales.  If that's so, are you planning on going that way with Kritzerland in the future?

I've always thought it would be fun to have a house with a lanai.
Just so you could say, "Oh, let's go out on the lanai."

Well, you could still *say* it...

I just looked up Maltby & Shire's college recording of Cyrano and Grand Tour[/u] which were recorded in 1958 and 1959.  Doesn't that make them a longer partnership than Kander & Ebb, too?

DR Matthew - I believe he stated "internet" sales not "digital" sales.  -Still selling hard copies as opposed to digital downloads.

A biography of David Shire HERE says that their first professional show wasn't until 1969, so maybe some people will use that as a starting date for them.

As for the whole Kander & Ebb, Jones & Schmidt, etc., discussion... I believe "they" are basing the length of the career from the first Broadway show by each team to their current (new and running) Broadway show.  Productions of new works Off-Broadway and regionally aren't being considered.
