Then I watched the second chapter of the SUPERMAN serial. Lois fell out of an office building window for the cliffhanger.

I was doing a little "tunnel" searching of my own after getting an email from the PR firm handling the Simpsons advance screening.  And among the hyperlinks on their site was this one:

http://www.skefilms.com/

Which, a la my previous post, may be BK's partnership with Sid Luft (though it isn't).

Wouldn't that more properly be termed an office building faller, then?

Then I walked back around to 6th Avenue and Bleecker.  I happened to pass the IFC, and noticed that they are showing the new Patrice LeConte film, "Le Meilleur Ami" ("My Best Friend").  The always wonderful Daniel Auteuil is the star.  I made note of the show times, and I think I'm going to try to catch it sometime this week.  -They're also showing the new documentary, "Summer Camp".  That looks good too.

Is that Daniel Auteuil of "Amelie?" He's so adorable! If you'd like a movie partner, let me know...

What a loverly day here in the Bluegrass State. After visiting with friends at church this morning, we had my dad's side of the family over for leftovers and swimming. I had a great time getting to know my two two-year old second cousins (Jenna and Lindsay) and seeing my aunt and uncle and cousins (first cousins) again. And the weather was BRILLIANT. After swimming, we went to visit my grandparents for a few minutes before returning to the house for dinner. My dad has to fly out tomorrow morning for a business trip, so he needed to be home to pack and get some rest.

Tomorrow, we will be taking the girls to the Zoo, which should be an adventure, after which we will visit Chik-Fil-A (save the best for last, right?) and then back home for more swimming. I think my mom wants to take me out for dinner tomorrow night at some fancy restaurant she knows, and then I'm off to the airport on Tuesday morning.

Where did the time go???

And yes, there are pictures of the twins...including one of Lindsay with chocolate ice cream all over her face and tummy... TOO CUTE! (And I'm not generally a fan of kids).

Oh... There was actually a method to my madness today.  Today was sort of a "farewell to carbs".  I've been sort of reckless over the past couple of weeks, months in regards to my diet, and I really just need to get back on track again.  I'm also trying to regain some control over some other aspects of my life, and I've been prepping a sort of Total Body/Life Makeover the past couple of weeks.  And tomorrow is Day One.  Day One of ???.

Life is good right now.  But it could be better.  And I could be better.  So, I have a couple of "Will Do" lists for each day, rather than "To Do" list.  There's nothing Major I need to deal with (well, maybe...), but there's just a lots of minor things that I've been letting slide for too long.  And, yes, DECLUTTERING is the biggie for me.  -And finally getting rid of my car last week was the perfect way to get the ball rolling (again).  It was just holding me back, literally and figuratively.  So... Time to begin.

-And thus concludes my very self-indulgent post.  ;)

I don't believe M. Auteuil was in "Amelie".  The adorable actor in "Amelie" is M. Mathieu Kassovitz.

As for "The Next Food Network Star"....  I lost interest in it after the first two episodes.  Again.  I really just have to wonder what criteria the producers use to select the initial batch of contestants.  Yes, I can understand wanting to have a variety of personalities, backgrounds and specialties, but too many of them just seem a bit incompetent, in general, to be a true contestant, competitor, imho.  I know the contestants send in an audition video, but does anyone know if they also have to send in some of their own recipes?  -Who knows?  Maybe I'm expecting too much, and/or I want it to be a bit more like "Top Chef".

I also think it's sort of telling that the Food Network keeps adding new programs and hosts to their line-up... In better time slots than the winners of the Next Food Network Star.

Well... I actually haven't heard back from the casting office regarding the house seats, so...  And I've also been asked to be on-call for the matinee of A Chorus Line on Wednesday since the other sub got called in for jury duty.  So..  TBA.

Is this song about a companion restaurant to the one the DR MBARNUM discovered in the Big Apple?

Today was Vixdad's birthday so we went to brinch with some friends and then the Vixter, Vixdad and I went to see the HP 5 movie....

Vixdad (who hasn't read any of the books) thought it was  "OK"

the Vixter and I  (who love the books) were disappointed.. both of us missed what was left out, of course it WAS a huge book and probably wol;d have needed a miniseries to put everything in....

and then home to do some more HP reading.

I have now finished HP 7

I will say that when reading the last few chapters I suddenly realized that my hands were sweating and my heart was racing

I had to put the book down and go get a glass of water and calm down before I could complete it

I dread the day I have to move to Vista.....

Both of my office computers are Vista.  There are some frustrating things about it, but since they are both Vista they talk to each other pretty well
