I use the TV for live sports and breaking news. It has ceased being a form of entertainment.
I watch one comedy and one drama because friends of mine work on them. 30 Rock and The Closer. I'm not embarrassed for my friends, as each seems to out-class the competition.
I've been fascinated by Mad Men's production design. It's set in the year and place of my birth, and how often do you get to see that? I don't like the characters, nor do I find the drama compelling; watching with the sound off would do the trick.
"Reality" shows are never like reality and are ALL based on the premise that "real" people will make themselves look stupid.
A season or so ago I enjoyed Gregory Itzen's impersonation of Richard Nixon on 24.
Some cartoons aren't so bad. And while I can't stand doctor shows, House often makes me giggle.
