Arizona isn't on his list.  I have no idea why.  I do know he doesn't like hot weather at all.

Good evening. Thanks all for the comments. I know my mixed feelings are natural, it's just nice to hear someone else say that.  Tomorrow I am anxious to hear when services are so I can try to adjust my schedule. I'm sure that won't be a problem. Bob was very well regarded in the community and I'm sure eveyone I would need to talk to about rescheduling things will be there too

DR JENNIFER

I watched BB and then checked up on the feeds. Ok, no more yanking your chain...I do think that Dick and Danielle will probably win, unless Zach can win HOH again, but they were terrible this week.  I don't really want to see them win, but I have a feeling one or the other will.

I'm now in the middle of watching the documentary on Iraq War vets on HBO, "Alive Day Memories: Home From Iraq".  Very sobering.  Very inspirational.  Very moving.

And in other news, I just checked in with United and USAirways, and it turns out there's plenty of room on the earlier flights tomorrow, so I should be able to get back to NYC sooner rather than later.  :)

I had a marvelous time talking and talking and talking with DR Jose. And I enjoyed dinner very much, too. Yes, the Landmark, which I hadn't been to in years. Still the same place as much as I could see.

And might I add that I am very jealous of you New Yorkers who get to experience DR Jose's wit and charm and smile every day. Some folks have all the luck.

I didn't think about taking any pictrues either. But it's probably a mercy since Jose ddoesn't need to have to worry about buying a new camera phone after my picture would surely damage it.

When I got in from taking DR Jose back to his hotel (well, I got close to it; the best I could do), I put in season two of THE CLOSER and watched the two part season ender. Just as enjoyable as always, and it impressed me this time about how GREAT it looked upconverted to near-HD. I'm not sure I had notcied before how good it can look even though it isn't an HD transfer.

I also watched the first episode on the last disc in THE CLOSER set, the one with the teenage boy killed and a convicted killer wanting to get out of prison.

Next I watched the first fifteen minutes of THE CANTERVILLE GHOST which I had recorded off TCM tonight. I thought I had seen it before (or at least parts of it), but I certainly hadn't seen the first part of it.

The print looks astounding, BTW. WOnder is Warners is getting ready to release this on DVD. Really looked sharp and with gorgeous grayscale.

And I ended the evening with DAMAGES which I missed last Tuesday when my cable was on the fritz (a CLOSER reference).

Excellent episode with several big surprises and some great drama. And I did see the preveiws for the episode coming up on Tuesday, and it REALLY looked explosive.

Exhausted, I am.

I’ve finished two of three submissions for awards given to musical theatre writers.  They’ve yet to be mailed, but the postmark deadline is 9/15 (the one not done yet is 9/17), so I’m somewhat ahead.  The two today are the longest of long-shots, but this year I’ve added confidence since my libretto’s been gone over so many times by an amazing young director who sweats every detail.  That’s a bonus.  Winners won’t be announced before May.

And then there are the score chores.  In recent weeks, my director, my musical director and I pored over all the Such Good Friends music, coming up with little ways to improve everything: accompaniment figures, cues, intros and play-offs, scene change music, scenic underscoring, dance music; even the voicing of chords.  I’m now listening to tapes of ten hours of meetings, and making all sorts of changes.  Today I got through number #6, so I’m not even a quarter of the way there.

The only time I left this desk was for a production meeting.  The mistress of the props has a great attitude: “Just point me towards a junk yard and I’ll find whatever you need.”
