The company cafeteria's idea about what portion size constitutes a single serving of chicken lo mein salad and mine are entirely disparate.

Disparate, I tell you.

Oh yes, they're disparate.

You just know they had meetings and Power Point presentations demonstrating exactly how much LO MEIN would be placed on the plate....   8)

Hi, DR Ginny-

Hope you're holding up and hangin in there.  You've got a lot on your plate, what with work, the recent events, and getting ready for your trip to the Big Apple.

The earth is my body.  My head is in the stars.

Who said that?

Well, I guess I did!   :)

Maude, to Harold! One of my favorites, and since you quoted from it the other day, I think it's one of yours, too!

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  My day started an hour earlier than usual with a 3.5-hour forum on K-12 P-16 (preschool through undergrad) education.  I'm back now to "second act" (Jose's term) the panel reviewing proposals for public funding for cultural/multi arts projects.

Hi, DR Ginny-

Hope you're holding up and hangin in there.  You've got a lot on your plate, what with work, the recent events, and getting ready for your trip to the Big Apple.

Thanks, DR Singdaw.  We're takin' it one step at a time here.  Richard did a lot of executor tasks yesterday and has that pretty much under control.  He has a major paper and a final exam to write and submit before we leave early Saturday morning.  A trip is just the thing we need right now.  Based on that glowing review, I think we'll hop on plane and fly to NYC to see The Brain  ;)!

Happily have my Diet Coke, have shaved, will shower in a few minutes, and then will be on my way to the Acorn to make sure that the lighting problems have been fixed or will be fixed.

I'm so glad to hear the shows are going well.   I wish I were there to wtiness this myself.   I also know how much hard work it's been for everyone, but just think how much joy you've brought into the humdrum lives of the audience (to paraphrase Jean Hagen in "Singin' in the Rain").

Break more legs!

And the word of the day is: AHIMSA!
Hitting someone on the head with A HAM IS contrary to the precepts of AHIMSA.

(By the way, AHIMSA spelled backwards is ASMIHA, which sounds a lot like a breathing condition that can really do violence to one's ability to run, exercise, have sex, or do anything strenuous.)

MattH will be happy to note that I just mopped the floor with Bruce.

bk, maybe not so...

Also, I gave myself a moving in present and for the first time, bought a vacuum cleaner. My whole life I've only had handme downs or ones that my DH has found and restored. (He seems to have a knack for finding them.) We left the last one with our new tenant and I bought a Dyson canister. My life has changed for the better. How did I ever get by with 4 cats without it?

I think I could knit a new cat out of all the cat hair I've vacuumed up from the old sofa!

It's another pretty, but hot day in New York, New York.  I've only been out for a few minutes, though.
