End of rant, but I will say that I was beginning to think I needed a second opinion anyway.  She isn't getting better and I think there are just too many meds and that's taking away her appetite...nothing in..nothing out...

Hopefully we can get a fresh perspective on her problems.  I'm hoping

I never liked a typewriter that had a moving typing ball instead of a moving carriage.....

When I was in high school, I got an old electric typewriter at a library suplus sale (before I ever worked for the library).  It was older than the Selectric  model shown above.  I found this image (below) that was the exact kind of typewriter that I had.  The ad is from 1951!!  I never knew that it was that old!  And JRand, you might like it...this doesn't have a moving typing ball but it does have a moving carriage! ;)

So, I am going to pack up a bag and head home.  I have a lot of work to get done before my client's asylum interview in Omaha tomorrow, but I think I'll just do it at home after Cal's appointment.

Busy morning.  I'm hungry.

That is all.

I had a rock bottom situation with Artie's last night: some idiot behind the counter got a bit of the macaroni salad mixed in with the rice pudding.  It was god-awful.

Well, I can work another 30 minutes here before I head downtown.

YUCK!

have a good day

Miss Blue Moon is at the grooming palace today getting a beauty treatment.  She loves all of the attention.  And when the truck rolls up the driveway and she sees Bryan, the groomer, she is at the door ready to go.

She usually races him to the van.

wow, i have never had a dog that enjoyed getting groomed.  sherlock is good but he doesn't like it.  he is our first pet that enjoys going to the vet.

This, from The Secret Life of Lobsters, by Trevor Corson.  Just because I like to share.

(Talking about lobster fishing.  A "notcher" is a female lobster that has had a notch cut into her tail, to identify her to future fishermen as one that has or can bear eggs, protected from fishing by law.)

Quote
Once, the monotony of Mark Fernald's day was broken when he hauled up a big notcher that was dressed in a Barbie-doll outift, complete with high-heeled sandals.  Mark had to lift her skirt to see her V-notch.  Another lobsterman caught her again about a week later - she had walked three miles in heels.

I've done my first pass at an order and structure for the show - some of it is good and much of it isn't.  I will now spend the rest of the day fixing what isn't.

Callie  and Cilla vibes!

I hope you make sure your vet knows what happened, maybe if you send a letter marked personal.

Good luck with the new doctor.

The last typewriter I had at work was in the early 1990's at the Indiana School for the Deaf.

It was an IBM Wheelwriter.

DR Jane - I hope you and your wrist slept well last night.

thank you.  it was a semi rough night.  i did manage to meet up with my hiking group this morning & we had a lovely long walk around the lake...the almost lake-it is exceptionally low at the moment.

while i have definitely had a set back it is somewhat better now than it was this morning.

Jrand, mbarnum, & cilla, thank you as well.

JRand and George, you guys were very modern...this is the typewriter I owned during my Jr. high and high school years. In fact I had it until just after I moved to Salem.

Thanks, Jane.  Yes, surprisingly I did not cough as much as expected.  However, now I have no voice.

Sorry to hear you've had a set-back, but glad to hear you got out for a hike today.

Yup...that exact color. :) Right now at work, I use a SilverReed EZ50 memory typewriter.  I don't use it very often at all, anymore, but it's still needed once in a while.

Sometimes it's easier to type one label on a typewriter than it is to crank up the computer and print out one label from a sheet of labels.

Ain't it the truth!  I keep an electronic typewriter at home for just that purpose, and addressing single envelopes and filling out forms, too.
