DR Jose - the kangaroos would quite probably be from the same family group. The park (and reservoir - a DR Jose reference) was created in the mid 1970s. The Kangaroo population was here before that time. Night driving on the country roads had to be undertaken with care. I've only "brushed" against one with the car and I was pleased to see it hop off in to the scrubland. I've lived most of my life within twenty miles of where we are now.

I'm hoping to post more photographs (Where is the Administrator?) soon.

Hello, fellow DRs. Sorry to have been so E&T today. I was terribly busy at work, and I had to leave in the middle of the day because a family asked me to sing a memorial service. Very sad; a 38 year old woman who left 3 young children. Stomach cancer. And another memorial service tomorrow afternoon. Yeesh.

All in all, it was a fun audition session, and we somehow managed to fit every one in that we needed to see today - and we finished early(!) and never felt rushed at all throughout the day. I played some fun stuff today too, including some whacked out (and I mean that in a good way) arrangement of Berlin's "I Love A Piano", which changed tempos and feels almost every four measures - kept me on my toes (and fingers).

And it still sort of "amazes" me how some Broadway veterans (with like 10 Original Broadway Cast credits on their resume) still get nervous like everyone else does during an audition. It's nice to know they're "still" human.

After making a trip to Amy's Bread to pick up some cupcakes, I headed to the casting office for my afternoon session. -The cupcakes were for the office staff.

I ended up spending some time with Sean Martin Hingston. We ran through some music, and since we were both a bit early for the appointment/audition, we had some time to talk. I've seen him in a bunch of shows - he's an amazing dancer - and I also happened to catch him when he was in "Chita And All The Jazz" when the show made a stop in Richmond back in the late '90s. It was the opening night of her stint there, and it also happened to be his first night going on - he was the understudy for the male ensemble. I told him that I had seen that, and he was surprised I remembered such details. Well, then he went on to talk about the great party they hosted at one of the "bars" in town, as well as the host(ess) for the evening too.

And when I asked about his accent, it turns out he's from Melbourne. That led to chatting about the Crowne, Freddo Frogs, Australian wine, Tim-Tams, etc. -I did not bring up "roo poo".

I saw BB in Triumph of Love on Broadway. She kept her eyes open when she sang.

(The same could not be said of Robert Vaughn, who was in the audience and was visably displeased.)
