Good Evening!

It was nice to get out of the apartment for a while, and just like in DR MattH's area, the skies cleared, the sun came out, and it warmed up just a little.  A very nice fall afternoon in NYC.  :)

It must be the Matterhorn in the back, Captain?! ::) ;)

More likely the home of Oregon rappers: "The Hood".

I had a lovely dinner with the currently errant and truant DR Jason earlier.  He's doing well, and, yes, he's currently busy(!).  He starts rehearsals on Monday for his tour of A Christmas Carol, and then in two weeks time he starts performances.   He does have some "local" shows on his itinerary, and once he finds out whether or not the general public is invited to them - a lot of them are for schools - he'll report in just in case any DRs want to try and see him in his plethora of roles.  -He has 11 costume changes in a 60 minute show!

In any case, it was great catching up with him.  We hadn't see each other in about two weeks.  -And he happened to notice a new waiter at the Renaissance Diner, a "beautiful" new waiter. ;)

Here's a nice fall in Moscow:

Was his ability to get out of his trousers with speed a factor in his casting :)

After dinner, I headed up to Columbus Circle to check things out in Williams-Sonoma.  I needed a new vegetable brush.  And while looking through their bins of gadgets, I came across something that was just too "silly" not to buy...

The Cuisipro© Peanut Butter and Jelly Spreader

Quote

Use this all-in-one tool to scoop and spread peanut butter and jelly. Eliminates the risk of peanut butter and jelly mixing in jars. Silicone ends allow for easy spreading. Can also be used for butter, cream cheese, mayonnaise and mustard.

-And since our current subletter is an admitted PB&J Sandwich fanatic, well... :)

i like that jose.  i have tried using both sides of one knife, but it just isn't the same.  that would come in handy for when i eat peanut butter out of the jar, one knife scoop usually isn't enough.  i'll keep an eye out for one.

And only $8.00 to boot!

-However, the one "possible" design flaw is that if you end up laying it down on the counter after your PB&J'd your bread, then you end up getting PB&J on the counter.  I would have taken a "hint" from the OXO GoodGrips folks, and made it so that the ends of the spreader arc up.  Of course, if you end up placing it on the counter "upside down", well...  But I guess there's always balancing it on the rim of the jars or plate.  :)

lol-yhat won't be a problem with me since both ends will ends will be used as an eating utensil & it will go immediately into the sink to be washed.

Gotta have some of those for stocking stuffers for Christmas.  The Cuisipro website says I can get them at Sur-la-Table in Cincinnati.

I also liked the vegetable brush and vegetable peelers from Chef'n that I bought too - which would also make good stocking stuffers for those culinary inclined:

I had a wretched early lunch at the Sherman Oaks Marie Callender's - I'm done with Marie in all its locations, I fear.

But, I was joined by Mr. Grant Geissman, so that was fun.  He's in our fundraiser band, too.
