Well, it's not like Jennifer is NEVER going to see THE CLOSER. The third season DVDs should be out in May. Yes, she'll have to wait a bit, but the wait is worth it. It's a really wonderful season.

I watched the last episode in the CSI: MIAMI set. A fairly good serial killer scenario, and I did like that they didn't leave cliffhangers. Well, I guess Ryan's fate is a cliffhanger of sorts, and it's not not resolved even four episodes into the new season.

I watched the last ten minutes of MY NAME IS EARL which I hadn't finished. Pretty much what I expected.

Since I had a 2 1/2 hour window, I decided to watch BLOOD DIAMOND to get a high def movie watched and cleared off the DVR. They take up much more room than a SD movie does.

Very engrossing story with wonderful performances and solid direction.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES had some rather ugly things going on tonight. Yes, the surface was kind of snappy, but I felt very uncomfortable watching the neighbors be so judgemental.

Jesse Metcalf has aged into a very gorgeous young man.

BROTHERS & SISTERS had some surprising developments tonight, too. Very surprised in a number of ways. And that final image had me in tears.

Tomorrow I'll watch DEXTER and COLD CASE that I recorded tonight. I'd also love to get another of the films off the DVR, possibly BORAT.

Good Evening!

The rest of the chicken has been cut up, and part of it shredded (by hand).  The dishes are clean, and I've cleaned the stove top and wiped out the oven.  -At least one of us here cleans up the kitchen properly. ;)

DR Cillaliz - Hmm... Is the grill pan you have cast iron?  If so, has/is it already seasoned?  If not, well... Next time... semi-generously oil the pan before putting on the heat.  And then let it heat up over medium-low heat for a few minutes before turning it up to medium/medium-high.  And, yes, it should smoke a little.  Then just to be safe, I would place a little more oil in the pan.

Now, if your pan is not cast iron, well... The general rule - which I remember from Jeff Smith, The Frugal Gourmet - is "Hot Pan, Cold Oil - Food Won't Stick".  Let the pan heat up first, then put the oil in.

As for "the turning", well...  I'm guessing the sugar from the applesauce and maple syrup probably contributed to your sticking problem.  Otherwise, once enough of a crust has formed on the burger, it should more or less release on it's own - well, with a little bit of help.  I would also lower the heat a little bit - turkey meat, especially when ground, requires gentler handling than beef does.  But then again...

Stick Happens.  ;D

DR Jose, this new project sounds like it will be loads of fun for you, and quite a thrill! Aren't you glad you moved to NYC!!!!

And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

...And there's also a chance that you should have waited another minute or two before flipping.

*I have a favorite turkey burger recipe that incorporates bits of cheese in it - talk about a potentially sticky situation. I've found that chilling the burgers for a bit after forming them helps them to stay together better on the grill.  -And the "chill" aids the searing too.

Back from an afternoon at my brother Jeff's in Tigard where a nice family bar-b-que was had. Dog Bosco played with Dog Trooper and at times little Ben and Taylor joined in. Much food was consumed, much laughter occured, and much family was visited, and now I am home.
