;D i have this aversion to throwing up, so instead of getting it over with i just suffer.

Speaking as one with finicky gall stones, when attacked by nausea it is better to relax and "go with the flow" than try and hold back! (Of course, if you enjoy the suffering... :-X)

Well, now we know what Noel is up to.  He's doing a concert of music by blacklisted writers.  It would seem to be some sort of benefit - only as far as I can tell, the benefit benefits him and the production entity of Such Good Friends.  Wow.  Not only that, the benefit just happens to take place on - say what?  November 5th?  What a coincidence - the very night of OUR benefit.  And say what?  They're having a pre-show wine and cheese reception?  What a coincidence - just like OUR benefit.  And say what?  They're having a silent auction?  WHAT a coincidence - just like OUR benefit.

My goodness, I am astounded by all these coincidences.  And by the disappearance of the benefitee who apparently likes to benefit and then run.

If you must know, I had surgery on my right hand last week, a particularly scary thing for a professional pianist, and can only type with my left.

These intimations of stealing ideas are most unseemly.  I went out of my way to emphasize that I thought nobody here had plagiarized my 2000 musical (attended by Dear Friend Skip) involving sexy aliens, a general who wants another star, and a negativity ray that renders people lust-less.  But try to throw a party celebrating our Talkin' Broadway Summer Theatre Festival Citations, involving a half hour of singing songs of those who dealt with blacklisting, and in walks touchiness.

On October 21, there was a post so wrong, so sour grapey, so rain-on-my-parade, I had to reconsider sharing further good news and tales of New York with the Dear Readers.  And now I feel unwelcome at this party.  Of course, this could be the Vicodin talking.

derbrucer, whenever i can't seem to "go with the flow" i recall how that inability saved me from becoming bulimic when my sister tried to teach me this "neat" trick she learned so we could eat ALL we wanted without gaining wait.

she lost weight & developed a horrible problem, while i simply got very ill from overeating and gained weight.

OMG I've had 15 trick or treaters. It was 5 last year and there is still an hour to go. If I had known I'd actually have people coming by I may not have eaten those other 3 bags of candy

Noel - I would imagine you're talking about this post.

If so, it's just a statement of facts.  At the very least, the fact that not a single individual performance from any of the Invited Shows was recognized by the NYMF Awards should be an indication of something.

***************************

BK - Thought I'd share this list that summarizes the NYMF jury awards for 2007.  15 of the 16 awards were won by Next Link shows, and the only one (choreography) won by an Invited Work was won by PLATFORMS - a 3-performance dance piece which was all about the choreography.

(Note that all the individual performance awards were won by Next Link shows; no one in the Invited Works was deemed worthy of an individual acting award).  I'm only presenting facts, drawing no conclusions about the status of Invited Works in these awards.

NEXT LINK MUSICALS
Austentatious – 1 award
Back Home – I honorable mention
Boy in the Bathroom – 4 awards, 2 honorable mentions
Gemini – 1 award
Going Down Swingin’ – 1 award
Love Sucks – 1 honorable mention
Mud Donahue & Sons – 1 award, 1 honorable mention
Petite Rouge – 1 honorable mention
Sherlock Holmes – 1 award, 2 honorable mentions
Such Good Friends – 3 awards
Sympathy Jones – 1 award
Tully – 1 honorable mention
Yellow Wood – 2 awards, 1 honorable mention

INVITED WORKS
Beastly Bombing – 1 honorable mention
Good Fight – 1 honorable mention
Piper – 1 honorable mention
Platforms – 1 award (a well-regarded special event dance show, clearly had to win for choreography)
Unlock’d – 3 honorable mentions

I do wish you healing vibes for your hand.  With my foot issues of late, I wish pain upon no one that I care about, and I do care about you and Joy.

And Noel, I for one would love, love, love your "name that tune" expertise on the excerpt I posted a few days ago.

Nobody's raining on anyone's parade.  I thought all the coincidences were amusing and said so.  I still think they're amusing and I imagine I'll keep thinking they're amusing.  Hope your hand feels better, but I was not the only one who found it odd that you'd disappeared from the site.

Stay.  Have fun.  Be well.

I've had about 16 tonight. That's a lot more than the 5, I expected, but a lot less than the 107 I had at my old house.   None of them have been older. I would guess my oldest at around 10 -11. The favorite has been the little packs of Whoppers

The last time I vomited was when I was expecting a certain Dear Reader.
While drinking orange juice?  This could be hereditary, after all.

Tonight, der B and I will be supping on cheesy chile mac.

Very retro.

And I have a bird I plan to spatchcock and roast tomorrow.

Here are some pictures from Playbill On-Line of

Disney's The Little Mermaid

Well, now I know why Sierra Boggess is no longer playing opposite Brent in PHANTOM.  She is now Ariel.

That photo of the horseshoe over the Grand Canyon is deceptive. I think it is an artist's rendering, which means it is grossly exaggerated.

In truth, it is over a shallow slot canyon and only about four hundred feet off the ground. And that building is not even there.
