Good Evening!

I got my e-mails sent, my faxes faxed, and my phone calls made and/or returned.  I also took care of a trip to the bank, and then finally got a real meal at the fish place next to my bank branch. YUM!

Jose, you live more life in one day then I do in a month!  :)

Next, I just HAD to revisit those climactic scenes of this past weekend's TORCHWOOD to see the culmination of that beautiful love story. Too bad that couldn't have been expplored in multiple episodes.
Good thing the DVDs will be released in January!

Did you notice the "Vote for Harry Saxon" poster on the door before Jack and Tosh went into the dance hall?

...Of course, when I checked in on the status of two outstanding checks from the same organization/person, my contact person apologized semi-profusely for the delay in getting my invoices processed.  She actually said it was her fault.  Of course, I've been calling almost weekly for the past five weeks inquiring about the status of my payments.  She said that the checks would be cut this Thursday with the regular payroll checks and that they would be mailed out that afternoon.  Well... I "lied" and told her that I'd be rehearsing in the building that day, and I'd prefer to pick up my checks at the front desk that afternoon.  This way, if the checks are not there this week, I can go right into her office and raise my voice for a bit.  ;)

I like Ianto very much. I wish he and Jack would get involved. He seems devoted to him.
The hint has been made that they have been involved!  A couple of episodes back, Jack asked Ianto to stick around, and in the last episode Owen was sniping at Ianto about what's been going on.  We just aren't getting to see the footage (another reason to get the DVD?   :o   ;D)

I got home from work, I had a bowl of leftover chili, I took a nap, I refused to get up just because der Brucer came into my room announcing the DVDs for Doctor Who - The Complete Third Series had arrived.  That's how tired I was.

A couple of hours was all I needed, and I feel better now.

I got back late last night from the memorial for my cousin in Framingham, MA late last night.  She was only 62.  There were about 250 people there.  Members of the immediate family (with whom I had spent most of the morning) had suggested that I sit in the front with them, but I somehow preferred to sit towards the side where the pictures of my late cousin were displayed.  Besides family functions, she and I had been in touch almost constantly by email, and it's amazing that email can make you feel as close as being there sometimes - some people (including some of my family)  feel the computer age has depersonalized communication, but I feel in this case it kept some parts of the Boston-area and NY-area families in regular contact.

It turned out that at some point during her last days, my late cousin, as she knew she was on the verge of passing away, had specifically chosen the room where the memorial was held.

Many thanks for the HHW vibes and wishes of comfort for my family.

My deepest sympathies DR FJL.  I missed offering them to you before you left for the memorial.

Dinner tonight:

Ham steaks
Brussels sprouts with bacon (der Brucer loved it for our Thanksgiving dinner, and wants more)
Cheesy grits.
Corn muffins.

Another high school classmate of mine passed away last week.

However, the real tragedy for me was the young couple (wife 28, husband 30) who were shot to death in their home near Tacoma last week by a recently paroled convict (who had previously killed his own mother) who felt the husband owed up $50.00 for a tatoo he had designed for the husband, who had no interest in getting a tatoo.

If this is Encores!, they told me the same thing last week.

For an organization that spends so much money on "concert" productions, they're always crying poverty.

Did I post a photo of my nephew and his new wife? Well, I will.

And there was that horrible story on Thanksgiving Day in DC.  A father, while passing off his kids to his ex-wife at a public park, shooting his wife and their three childen, and then headed home to kill himself.

Drew Casper does not make me laugh.  He makes me want to vomit on the ground.  He is the poster child for not having facial surgery.

Mickey Rourke looks worse.

I don't think I've ever seen an full episode of Murder, She Wrote.

I saw ONE.  It had Jean Simmons in it.

We actually were in The Netherlands for the whole week, so our families had to do without us for the holiday.

I'm sure they were happy to do so knowing you were having a wonderful trip.

Photos will be much appreciated  ;)

I'd better get to the kitchen.  Dinner won't cook itself.

And then I'll be watching the adventures of the Doctor and Martha!  (Doctor Who Confidential documentaries narrated by Anthony Head this time.)
