At work..

It is somewhat quiet aside from busting a student trying to steal a library book. It was not even a good one at that. What nerve!

The "Torchwood" finale was a mixed bag for me.
...

I don't get what Gwen is supposed to "be" in this show...other than a bedmate for Owen and her boyfriend, Reese.

I suggest that she provides a contemporary working class grounding in reality that the others seem to lack.

Eeewww, do share ....

Paddy Cake on Liberty Avenue.  I kept returning for the chocolate petite fours with chocolate frosting & a light layer of white cream filling.  I don’t normally care for petite fours, but these were delicious, even better than Kandy Kakes, thank goodness.  I couldn’t believe I was in Pennsylvania & couldn’t find a chocolate Kandy Kake.

I went to Tasty Kake & found I can order an entire case on-line.  LOL-I’ll pass, my clothes are too tight as it is.

I may be cooking fish tonight.  You girls have put me in the mood.

Good! I'm so glad - it's taken 20 years to get fresh fish on the menu (although I get a rather dirty look when I suggest the head-on varietires in the market might be tasty!) Maybe I'll have to learn to clean a fish.

I could practice with evisceration of DR Pulliam.

Hi all,

I'm so sorry if it's looked like I've been on the board all this time without posting.

I wasn't feeling to good today and I fell asleep.  I went in and laid down on my bed and just got up a few minutes ago.

Now I need to go in search of something to eat and I need to feed the dogs.

Laters all.  :)

From Ginny:
Click on Quote in a message where someone has done it and copy and paste the code onto a Word document, or as I've done on my Mac, onto a Stickie.  When you want to do something similar, just copy and paste the code you've saved, and replace the URL with the one you want to link to.  Between the bracketed b & /b put in the words you want to appear in your message.

Okay...here is a Sunday topic.....what voice does everyone sing in?

I am a baritone....my favorite song to sing is "You Are Beautiful" by the Mssrs. Rodgers & Hammerstein.

Johnny Weir is about to skate (taped).

Just remember to keep an eye on it, since it doesn't take long to bake... or overbake!

An alternative is to poach the fish, over a quiet simmer.  Just add some water in with the ingredients Penny suggested.  A light salad, and maybe some new potatoes or rice on the side...

MMm that sounds good too... I saw some great roasted potoatoes on a Food TV Christmas special with Paula Dean and Robert Irvine. I was thinking about trying that. He cut the potatoes so they fan out, parboiled them and then roasted them. They looked wonderful

I was going to add lemon, even if no one told me too. I almost always use lemon with fish

At least for the DEMS in IOWA it is a striaght-up issues contest; for the REPS, the game is more complex.

For Reps supporting either Mc Cain or Giuliani, the game is to stop Romney - and the man to do that is Huckabee. The scheme is to have Huckabee knock off Romney in IA and NH and for Mc Cain and Giuliani to be the top two in SC. So Republican moderates who might find Huckabee appalling on the issues, might vote for him to stop Romney -  a deep-pockets threat.

So, with this sort of Machiavellian plotting, polling data becomes tough to interpret.

So let me use this milestone post to thank DR FJL for inviting me to The Little Mermaid last night with him, Skip and their good friend Pat.

What a fun show!  I just loved it.
So colorful - a visual treat.

Sherie Rene Scott has always been one of my favs, and her Ursula does not disappoint.  And that costume - wow!

The woman who plays Ariel - Sierra Boggess, is lovely.  A beautiful voice, and she looks exactly as you would imagine the character would look.  She's new to Broadway - and they made the perfect choice casting her in this role.

Thank you Fred for a wonderful evening.

Sierra Boggess was starring as Christine Daae, opposite (the WSMA) Brent Barrett in the Las Vegas production of PHANTOM; before she was picked to be Ariel.
