We have a Von Maur in Greenwood a couple of miles down the highway from the World of Wisdom.  Nice goods.

Or green bean casserole with french onions on top...
Or something topped with your special "screw the sell-by date" sour cream.

Not that it matters, but going back to songs that make you cry or laugh, the harp pieces that reduce me to a puddle are Gliere's "Concerto in E-Flat major for Harp and orchestra, Op. 74" and almost anything by Pierne.   When I heard the Gliere piece for the first time, we were in the car, and I heard it on the radio, pulled over and called the radio station (at a payphone-- remember those?) and immediately drove to Tower Records to buy the LP.

Back from a very nice meeting with an EQUITY rep.  I don't know how it will all play out but I couldn't have asked for a nicer more supportive guy - just terrific.

Am awaiting the arrival of Mr. Spirtas, and then we'll head over to the Oaks of Sherman for lunch with Miss Purl.

Thanks for the info, DR S. Woody. I have not had any news on today, but will watch when I go back down later. I was busy watching entertainment programming.

I began my afternoon viewing with Sunday night's DEXTER. What a riveting hour! So exciting and gut-wrenching. Only two episodes left and I honestly don't know WHAT'S going to happen. No clue where it's going. I have to assume Dexter will somehow manage to escape his predicament since DEXTER is the most popular show on Showtime at the moment and is obviously coming back for another season.

Next, I watched last night's LIFE. A great hour of adventure with lots of surprises and that tongue in the cheek flippery that distinguishes this show.

I'm at a loss as to why it hasn't caught on. It's very hip and cool. Maybe it's that ungoing investigation aspect of it that makes people feel like they're behind if they don't watch every week. At any rate, a first-rate episode to end this cycle of the show's run.

Next, I watched two MURDER SHE WROTE episodes. The first one was a Jessica-less episode (I'm hoping the last of this season). Dennis Stanton (Keith Michell) was back investigating the robbery of a ventriloquist's dummy and then a murder. Very easy to spot the killer. Another fizzle episode. Guest stars included Georgia Brown, Marty Ingles, Lyle Waggoner, Grant Shauld, and Leslie Easterbrook.

The second one did feature Jessica in one of the most emotional episodes of the seventh season, perhaps the one she sub, itted for the Emmys that year. She is told that her late husband fathered a child out of wedlock with an Air Force nurse, and she's doing all she can to find out the truth. Of course, there was also a murder investigation going on as well, so Jessica was really busy on two cases, one of them more personal than the other but both in a way interconnected.

Guest stars included Vera Miles, Martin Milner, John Beck, Paul Gleason, and Richard Gilliland.

I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No gay characters and they weren't in tomorrow's previews either.

I concluded my afternoon's entertainment with a LAW & ORDER episode on TNT-HD. This was one from the Benjamin Bratt-Carey Lowell years and concerned a man with HIV who was having unprotected sex with as many women as possible as an act of revenge. Very compelling case.

I did read that LIFE's ratings were up 22 % from last week's episode. Part of that might have been that CSI: NY was airing a rerun, but for the first time, LIFE had a larger audience than DIRTY SEXY MONEY on ABC! Looks like more people are discovering it.

DR Miss Karen - Do you need THE ENABLER to drop off some Levain Cookies and Amy's Bread Monkey Cake to the New York landlord?  -Well, I mean, I could just say they were from Levain and Amy's Bread... ;)

Well... There's a reason I made sure to learn how to take care some basic and not-so-basic keyboard programming over the years.

DR Miss Karen - As for as Boo-Key's non-accident... Does CA have some sort of law stating that the only way any sort of damages above a certain amount can be claimed in regards to an automobile accident is is the police were called?  I know that Virginia and the District of Columbia have something like that on their books... Which is why when I was involved in my one and only fender-bender, I made sure to wait around until the police arrived to file a report.  *Of course, the police ended up being a bit put-off for having to respond to an accident where no one was injured and there was barely any damage to the cars, but I was not going to take any chances.   Thankfully(?), I was the one who was hit, however, since it turned out that the person who hit my car did not have insurance, by filing the report with the police, it made it a whole lot easier for me to get the minor repair covered by my insurance company, as well as a check from the Maryland Uninsured Driver's Fund.
