Woo and hoo!  I am so very happy to see that Mr. John Saxon will be attending the Ray Courts Show which I will also be attending!!!!

JRand, perhaps you ought to buy a ticket to Burbank!

If that's the press photo they're using, be prepared for a major shock!

Wow, George Kennedy will be there.  I've worked with Channing, with Kennedy (playing his son in a TV pilot for CBS) , and I think there's someone else there that I worked with.  Should be fun.

Just in case no one noticed, some nice person (David Huxley) has posted clips of the divine Dorothy Loudon in SWEENEY TODD on youtube:

The Survivor guy is; I suspect the guy Mike is talking about is the actor who played Captain Apollo on the original "Battlestar Galactica (1978)" .

Of course! The jailbird is way too young to perk any interest in our DR MBarnum.

My DH's great Aunt has passed away in South Dakota at the ripe old age of 96.  We have been asked to perform the memorial service on Saturday.  Assuming we can scramble to make arrangements for Zach, we may be taking a quick trip toward the end of the week.

Singdaw, my condolences to you and your DH on your loss.

But wow...96 years old!  I'm sure that there's been a lotta living in them years.

William Hartnell would have been 100 years old today.

Elvis Presley would've been 73 today.

Stephen Hawking is 66 today.

Hello, m'dears - just landed at Fort Lauderdale - yup, I'm in Miami for the week. Nice weather!!!

Speaking of which - I had a call a few moments ago from Jane and Keith - they are trying to get home, and the weather may or may not cooperate - the pass between California and Oregon can be closed at any time, due to freezing conditions and/or snow -

Jane asked me to request good travel/get home tonight vibes from y'all - my fingers are crossed, and I'm hereby requesting excellent get-home-safe-tonight vibes for the Jane-Keith-Sherlock unit!!!

The Loudon clips are great.  I said that Miss Carter's biggest problem is that she either has been directed to subvert every laugh in A Little Priest or she just doesn't know how to land them, but people have come on and said that "their" audience laughed - of course, what's clear is that "their" audience is peppered with musical theater people who know the song and therefore laugh, no matter what the performance.  There was not ONE laugh in that song when I saw the film at the DGA.  Then, someone came on and said there were never big laughs in that number, even with Lansbury on the DVD - of course, the audience reaction during numbers was purposely dialed down in the mix of that video.  Watch Loudon and Hearn - just as it was with Lansbury and Cariou - want laughs?  All you need to know is how to get them.

Yes indeed to "Sordid Lives" and "Little Voice"  DR td.

I've introduced quite few friends to the former and also to my long time favourite "The Milagro Beanfield War".

And here's a fantastic thing I found while nosing around - I have never seen ANY clips of this version of Gypsy - it brings back just how good Miss Lansbury was.

Snow-capped mountains are seen behind the Long Beach Airport, as seen from Signal Hill on Monday. The recent storms dropped several inches of water north of Long Beach, much of which fell as snow at higher elevations. (Stephen Carr/Staff Photographer )

We sure picked a great time to be in L.A.  It could have been worse, I almost got blown away in Sacramento-no joking.  At least the rain took a break on Saturday, and was only intermittent on Sunday.

Has anyone asked if DR WhipCrack will be riding the Deadwood Stage?

I think that's the only way to get around in those parts, except by foot...

Great photo.  It looks beautiful there.

It was beautiful, as we drove out of town towards the rain between L.A. & San Francisco.  At least SF was clear.
