The Christmas edition was called "The Ghost of Christmas Past" and in it, the story moves back to 1969 with the cast all playing different characters. The widescreen shrinks to the old 4:3 ratio, and it had the potential to be something really unique. Sadly, some of the actors were overparted. Karri Turner did a lousy impression of Phyllis Diller, and Catherine Bell was impersonating a "famous" singer called Jenny Lake, though her singing voice was barely adequate. David James Elliott was playing his father, so other than wearing a mustache, he had the least to do in terms of turning in a different characterization from the fellow he normally plays.
An unusual episode, and it did show us how Harm's father got shot down and when, but otherwise, it was a gimmick show lacking in the drama that is a hallmark of the series.
