It is now snowing - wind chill is at 19 °

I suspect I'll have little sympathy from the mid-west crowd.

Be wary of molds.

I don't think they can attack accross 30 feet of setbacks.

Well, he's scheduled for a green-clothes day - that's regular registers. However, with the modern non-sexist work ethic of equal-work-for-equal-pay-unless-it's-too-tough-for-a-girl, he might be called upon if one of the regular wranglers goes AWOL.

Now I better keep a close watch on the "ouside" - too much snow or freezing rain and I can't get the car up the hill to go pick up the chef at 5PM.

(If the snow starts to pile up, I can always drive up and park on my front lawn.)

I doubt if they'll be any more of a problem than the stuff that ferments in the marshes out back.

Good morning, all!  I was up at 6:15 am, bathed, dressed and to the laundromat by 7.  By 7:30, I had my captain's bed and its drawers toted to the basement. After putting the laundry into the dryers around 7:40, I began taping all the cartons to be moved tomorrow to my storage space.  When I return home this afternoon, I'll continue on that project, and the two new filing cabinets I ordered yesterday should arrive this afternoon.

Very nice, Larry, although I'm sure it lacks the charm of  your other bed.
I've been thinking about this bed frame.

DR Jose:  I have no idea how to accomplish an accent circumflexe.  Please point me toward a listing that shows me how to create these things, and I shall be glad to oblige in the future.

And on Mac - and some PCs actually - if you hold down the "Alt" key, then type "i", you will get the accent.  Then you type in the desired vowel.

TIMES

Quote
Three Pigs story ruled ‘offensive to Muslims’

A children’s story based on the tale of the Three Little Pigs was rejected for an award after judges became concerned that it would offend Muslims.

The animated virtual book for primary school children, The Three Little Cowboy Builders, was also criticised for its potential to offend builders.

The row centred on the Bett awards, which were supported by Becta, the Government’s technology agency for schools. The judges’ remarks, reported on the education technology website Merlin John Online, included: “Is it true that all builders are cowboys, builders get their work blown down, and builders are like pigs?

“The idea of taking a traditional tale and retelling a story is fine, but it should not alienate parts of the workforce. Judges would not recommend this product to the Muslim community in particular.”

And here comes the payback:

DUTCH POLITICIAN PLANS TO AIR FILM CRITICIZING THE KORAN

Quote
A Dutch politician known for his views against Islam plans to air a film he produced that is critical of the Koran, which he likens to Adolf Hitler's hateful writings.

Parliamentarian Geert Wilders spoke to FOX News about the documentary, insisting the Muslim holy book is dangerous and should be banned.

"I believe the Koran is, indeed, 'Mein Kampf.' They are the same package," Wilders said. "I believe that our culture is far better than the retarded Islamic culture."

We should do a TOD of shows that changed networks.

Get Smart

OK, that's my list.

There have been a number of shows that have jumped networks including soaps, game shows and talkers.  Then there are some that went from network to syndication.

Another curious one would be what shows originally had their concept over seas and were developed into shows in the US or enjoyed a successful run from their home country in the US.

I hate it that NBC is wasting two new episodes of "Chuck" on a Thursday night when I was used to seeing it on Mondays.

I'm sick of network airdate-hopping I am.

There is no continuity in programming and it never gives a show a chance to build an audience.
