Well, you've read the notes, the notes rained AND poured, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently mooin' in the rain.

I might try to see some of the Preminger films at the Egyptian this weekend, since I do only live a few blocks away. Which ones do you most highly recommend Bruce?

I cannot sit in this chair one second more - my back is killing me and frankly I never did anything to my back so why it feels it necessary to perpetrate a homicide on me I'll never know.

Topic of the Day:  the first movie that came to mind was "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World." :D

The second movie that I thought of might not exactly fit the bill, but I don't care.  It's "The Muppet Movie!"

Well, kids-

I'm off to see the Wizard doctor.  And after I come out of the anesthesia, I'll be back posting.  Or, just for kicks, perhaps before.  Will any DR be able to tell the difference?  ;)

TOD
Of course it all depends of your definition of all star movie.

There is
Grand Hotel
The Poseidon Adventure
The Towering Inferno
Murder On the Orient Express
and all the other Agatha Christie adaptations that came after it
The Ten Commandments
The High and the Mighty
Airport (and its sequels)
Earthquake

I did have an e-mail from Tomovoz just the other day.  I can't speak for him, but I don't believe anything has happened at this site to drive him away.  Well, except for Slingblade, and of course he could single-handedly close the whole board down.  ;)  I believe that Tom is still grieving the loss of his beloved Fosca.  I think there are a few other personal things going on, but I expect that he is just taking one of those time-outs that we all need from time to time.

T.O.D.

My first choice is SHIP OF FOOLS.  It is a film that I never tire of watching.  Wonderful performances from everyone involved.  ** I also recommend MusicGuy's CD with The Theme from Ship of Fools.  I forget the title of the CD at the moment, and I am too tired to go looking for it right now; but Kerry can tell you, or you can look it up.

Thanks to DRS DAKOTA CELT and DR JMK on my search yesterday.

Being sued for $250,000 when you're making about $18K per annum must be sort of a shock.

Thursday morning greetings!  We had a light dusting of snow overnight, but not enough to cause any driving problems.  Today is payday and, this afternoon, the January edition of Grantseeking Basics.

Medical procedure vibes to DR Singdaw!

Yes, he recorded the main theme and the "Tango Tudesco"   I was listening to that CD last week or so (more precisely i was trying to drown the stereo of the stripper who lives next door-- she's losing her hearing from being in clubs and bars all the time that she doesn't always judge the volume accurately.)

I like DEATH ON THE NILE. Ustinov, Mia Farrow, Niven, Lansbury,Maggie Smith and Bette Davis...I assume it was made because of the huge success, 4 years earler, of MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, but I prefer DEATH to the ORIENT...The other, not exactly all star, is L>A>Confidential;Even when the character has no lines, like the actor cast as gangster Mickey Cohen, you've  seen him in other films and he and everyone down to the extras are 'spot on'.

TOD: I love "Ship of Fools," "Grand Hotel,"  "Dinner at Eight."   Even "Towering Inferno" had some good performances.  The original "Airport"  (the one  with Helen Hayes) was good, too.

Thanks to Messrs.  Barnum and Earles, I got to see three episodes of Miss Storm saying that very thing last night.  Did Gale Storm have any ownership in the show by then?  It sure seems like it, although I know Hal Roach (along with many others) never gave up a percentage of anything if they didn't have to!
