I've run my errands, and it's been a polyglot morning: Germans on the bus with me on my way downtown, an Italian lady on the phone riding the bus uptown with me alng with several others who, I believe, were speakoing French, but I only caught a bit on my way off the bus. Then, as I crossed 82nd Street two elderly English women passed me.
I've been listening to BLESS THE BRIDE, the 1947 British musical by Vivian Ellis and AP Herbert. Several readers on the Cast Recording List have sent me CDs of the London Studio cast from the 1960s, and I've been listening to them as well as the AEI recording of excerpts from the BBC radio broadcast from the 1940s. What a lovely show!
