Well, I need to get ready for my day.  I'm not exactly sure how today's audition will be run.  I'm booked from 1:00-7:00, but I have a feeling it's going to be a very leisurely paced day.  However, we could end up seeing someone every five minutes.  Who knows?  Guess I'll find out.

Tonight on tv for me:

LOST, ELI STONE (abc)
APPRENTICE, LIPSTICK JUNGLE (NBC).

And MISGUIDED.

Not sure if anyone else saw the preview episode on tuesday. But it's funny and cute. Especially the lead girl. Although i cannot figure out why they have her hair mousy blonde/brown (she looks so much like jennifer finnegan this way). The way she wears it now (bright orange/red) is so stunning. But i guess they don't want her to be stunning!

But she sure stands out more with red hair!

But...are you SURE it's for "you"?

Oh, quite sure.

In fact, after the "big bang", I'm going to stand up and belt out the last few phrases of "Rose's Turn."

Just in case they don't get it.

Like DR MattH, i was stunned at the 3rd lowest vote getter (carly). I had thought she was the favorite. But i'm guessing america does not think so. I can't imagine her even making top 3 if she got so few votes.

I was not unhappy with the bottom 2. Do not like either of them. I was happier though with who went (amanda). Although since she hasn't been in the bottom (i don't think) it sort of must have been suprising. I should check out the idolvotes site to see who the most popular ones are. I am curious!

I was not happy at who left (DR JRand said it was satisfying). I do not like josh, james or chelsia at all. I am not a huge matt fan. But i like natalie. and i was hugely disappointed in james for not sticking to what he agreed to. To me, you deceive in the game. But one time you should not lie is in endurance comps. To me if you make a deal you should stick to it.

I am not a huge fan of adams. But as i said, i do not like chelsia at all. So i was thrilled that he beat her for the hoh. I hope he noms james and chelsia. I wish they could both leave now.

Add me to the list of DRs needing new eyeglasses.

Question for anyone:
WHY are eyeglass frames sooo expensive? I don't get it. I can understand the lenses being costly, as they must be ground precisely, but I do NOT understand the high cost of the frames.

End of rant. (EOR)

You're Nothing Without Me and It Needs Work, both from the aforementioned City of Angels will always put me in a good mood. I really like that score.

Also in the folk department, Light One Candle from Peter, Paul and Mary's album No Easy Walk to Freedom and Another Side of This Life (late Mitchell Trio w/John Denver on the Violets of Dawn album)  can make me feel better

I was pretty well pleased with the outcome.  What I hated was Sheila's turning things against James after he used the POV to save her.  I KNOW what Sheila wanted from Matt.  She wanted to swap spit with him.  In her little talk, she leveled with him that he had been too inaccessible to the rest of them (i.e., HER) with Natalie clinging to him...as if Natalie were the reason he was there.

Matt talks the talk but he apparently can't walk the walk.  SUCH A BABY when he readily admitted he was the biggest a**hole in the house.  Suddenly, facing likely eviction, he gets all blubbery and "gee whiz innocent" as though he'd never crossed anyone.

I still have no favorites in the house.  For all I care, Adam can put James and Chelsia on the block.

BUT...I disagree in principle with the condemnation of James.  He DID honor his word.  He did not nominate Matt for eviction.  He nominated Sheila.  As soon as that happened, he had FULFILLED his promise.  That promise was not a promise NEVER nominate Matt or Natalie...it was a one-time deal.  It was up to whoever played for POV to win said honor and change things around if her or she wanted to.  When James won he was perfectly FREE to use the POV and use it to his advantage...even to overturning Sheila's nomination and putting Matt up.  That's my take on things.

I've run my errands, and it's been a polyglot morning: Germans on the bus with me on my way downtown, an Italian lady on the phone riding the bus uptown with me alng with several others who, I believe, were speakoing French, but I only caught a bit on my way off the bus.  Then, as I crossed 82nd Street two elderly English women passed me.

I've been listening to BLESS THE BRIDE, the 1947 British musical by Vivian Ellis and AP Herbert. Several readers on the Cast Recording List have sent me CDs of the London Studio cast from the 1960s, and I've been listening to them as well as the AEI recording of excerpts from the BBC radio broadcast from the 1940s. What a lovely show!

Big service for me tonight at the church.

Gradually, the lights are extinguished, until the service ends in total darkness.

My job [besides singing] is then to create a loud "bang" [signifying what, I've never been specifically told]

Perhaps you are awaking the napping Peter, James and John?

And what's Gethsemane without a severed ear?
