I have to tell you all about the sonic boom we had the other night when the shuttle landed.

It was so loud it sounded like someone was pounding on my front door.  I was watching "Ghost Hunters" at the time and it scared me so bad that I had to change the channel!  I couldn't find anyone at the door and that scared me as well.

By luck, the channel I changed to was Bay News 9 and they were going on about the sonic boom /landing so it gave me some peace of mind.

The dogs didn't even bark or even lift their heads--which was part of what scared me so badly.

Hi Danise.  CONGRATULATIONS on your new bed.  Vibes it is everything you are hoping for.

Thanks Jane.  I hope so too.  It sure felt comfortable when I tried it.  Just like the six thousand dollar bed I laid on last weekend but for less then a third of the price.

Oh, I'm laughing now.  But at the time it sure did give me a good fright.

Space Shuttle Sonic Boom - I think that will be a dance number in my new musical.

Now I want one!  ;D

Well, they do ship nation wide.  They even sell on Ebay.  That was one of the reasons I went to see them--because of all the good feedback they got.  Only 1 negitive.

I was just lucky that they are located in Tampa.  All the way on the other side of Tampa out by the airport but it wasn't a bad ride.

I honestly don't think I would have bought from them if they were not local.  For something like this, I think you have to go and see/feel what your getting.  It may not be six thousand but it's still a nice chunk of change.

The other nice things is that being local, they are going to not only deliver my new bed but they will take away the old one.  I didn't know what I could have done about that if they didn't.

I can't lift heavy stuff anymore by myself.  I don't want to take the chance on hurting myself.  I learned that lesson from the years of all the pain I saw poor Mom go through.

I'm thinking more along the lines of "Who's that pounding on my door!"   ;D :D

Cilla, I was so sorry to hear about your yard friend.  I've had that happen a couple of times.  It always hurts.

I am sorry, too, Cillaliz, about your squirrel. I love squirrels.

I've been meaning to tell DR TD that I'm reading the book he bought me when I was in Pittsburgh.  I'm about half way through Terry Pratchetts "Maskerade".  It's very good and funny.

Thank you very much!

Hi Danise!

Hi DearReaderLaura!  Such lovely photos!

I have some sunrises that I've taken while waiting for the bus that I've wanted to share but I just never seem to get around to resizing them to post.

We had a guy who made the paper.  He was arrested on a very minor charge and was released on bond.  He wanted to get away from the jail so badly that he tried to car jack a lady in the parking lot.

He wasn't free even 15 minutes when they had to re arrest him.  When asked why he did what he did, he said that he didn't have anyone to pick him up and he didn't want to walk home!

Needless to say, he did not go free on bond the 2nd time.   ::) ??? :o

I think this project of mine, clearing out paperbacks & making a list of all the books I've read, will never be completed.  Some of the books by prolific authors I don't recall reading, & they don't look used.  I like to keep my stack of unread books separate & Keith has a habit of putting them away.  Not just away in one section of the bookcase, but away where they look good. ::)

We all went to a place called Chili's for lunch.  It was the first time the entire company has dined together.  I had the mixed appetizers, which I must say were out of this world - Buffalo wings (all drumettes), spinach/artichoke dip, and best of all the Southwestern Egg Rolls.  We'll be going back there quite often now.

Now I want spinach and artichoke dip.

DR JANE - after I read a book, I put a pencil circle around Page Number 26, my birthday, that way I know I've read it.....even if it's years later when I pick it up again.

My boss puts a green check mark on the inside cover.

There was a day when I remembered every book I read.  Now, I see books I know I read but have no idea as to what they like.

Have good evening, Jane!

There are a bunch of photos from a Klamath Falls, Oregon, movie theatre up on EBAY.....if anyone remembers this place...I guess it's the Tower Theatre.

Got back from seeing JUNO at Encores a while ago.  Beautifully done, but I'd never seen the musical before, and I don't remember the play JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK being this harrowing and unsettling.

Of course, I saw the play over twenty years ago, but still...

I saw Roundabout's revival back a few years when I worked there- I remember it being only mildly harrowing and unsettling.

Hi, all, I'm home!

Thanks to DRs JRand, Singdaw, Elmore, FJL, and TPunk for the travel vibes.  Everything went smoothly and my flight arrived in Cincinnati right on time.  I am glad to be home and glad that I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday.

Congrats on the new bed Danise.

If a certain new job opens up within my agency, and I get promoted into it, I plan on buying a new bed to celebrate.
