Monday morning greetings!  Oh, it was nice to sleep in today and putter around the house.  I just put my signature on the form that gives permission to the IRS to direct-deposit our tax refund.  Of course, the deposit occurred last Friday.

So, DR Jose, it's 12 days since you've updated your blog.  Writer's cramp?

Honestly!  I was simply illustrating the title of the day.

Well, the picture you posted more closely resemble "spring rolls".  I believe the "eggrolls" that are being offered night at the St. James Theatre right now are more like these:

Aw, thanks for checking in and noticing.  It's not so much writer's cramp, as it is lack of writer's energy - last week's series of EPAs really took it out of me - and my brain.  However, I should have a new entry or two going up in the next day or two.  Stay tuned.

In our break room at the office, a stack of CDs appeared, with the sign, "FREE TO A GOOD HOME."

In the stack were two Barbra Streisand releases, "Higher Ground" and "A Love Like Ours."

So if any DR wants 'em, PM me your mailing address and they're yours!     :)

Hmmm... I could trade you some peanut butter cookies ;)

Re the word of the day:  I don't believe it no Zina-phobia.  I'm a Zina-phile, which means adoration of Zina Goldrich and Marcy Heisler.

Even if they do charge almost $40 for their songbook, which seems to annoy some people on another chat board.  :)

I have that songbook!  I also bought the sheet music to their song "Alto's Lament" as a birthday gift for the daughter of my friend Margo.  She (Alexis, the daughter) sang it one evening at her high school in a talent contest and she got the only standing ovation of the evening!  She was very, very, very (that's three verys) good! :D

The horror!  The horror! department:  I awoke this morning to discover my coffee maker had died.   :P :P :P :P :P :P :o :o :o :o :o

Between Keith and Bryan I can appreciate your horror. ;D

Poor Bryan has a perfectly wonderful coffee maker he can't use.  The realtor says it is too big to leave on the counter while his loft is for sale.  Keeping the place in perfect order is a cinch for him, not having his coffee is pure hell.  He has had to drink instant coffee & caffeinated soft drinks (something he never does). :o

The latest edition of Michael Ruhlman's blog is covering butterscotch, including a link to another blog where a guest blogger gives a recipe.

Ruhlman's suggestion on using the sauce on French toast gives me an idea for dinner Saturday night - I won't be getting off work until ten, and will need something quick to put in der Brucer's tum-tum.

Good butterscotch is something you don't see much of anymore.  Those look delicious.

You can't have enough cute men gracing the pages of HHW.   ;)

Charles E. Pogue might have something to say about that.

If you think DS Betsy would make my coffee for me, you obviously don't know Betsy.   ;D

I forgot to send my sympathies to DS Betsy, having to live with you this morning minus your coffee. ;)

Oh, I made coffee--the old fashioned way.  I heated up water and poured it through the filter.

I grind my beans every morning (not a euphemism).  Actually, Gabe does it--he has been doing it since he was old enough to toddle over to the grinder.  He gets *very* upset if he doesn't get to do this regular part of his morning routine.

TOD

Just going through the current series of Doctor Who gives a nice list of guest stars:

Zoe Wannamaker as Lady Cassandra O'Brien ("The End of the Earth", "New Earth")
Simon Callow as Charles Dickens ("The Unquiet Dead")
Penelope Wilton as MP (later Prime Minester) Harriet Jones ("Aliens of London", "The Christmas Invasion")
Simon Pegg as The Editor ("The Long Game")
Anne Robinson as Anne Droid ("Bad Wolf")
Daniel Evans as Daniel Llewellyn ("The Christmas Invasion")
Anthony Stewart Head as Headmaster Finch ("School Reunion")
Catherine Tate as Donna Noble ("The Runaway Bride")
Dekek Jacoby as Professor Yana ("Utopia")
John Simm as The Master/Harold Saxon ("The Sound of Drums")

Plus the third Christmas special, "Voyage of the Damned," brings us Kylie Minogue, Geoffrey Palmer, and Bernard Cribbens.

Torchwood, on the other hand, has avoided having very many names as guest stars, limiting themselves to James Marsters as Captain John Hart ("Kiss Kiss Bang Bang") and Alan Dale as Aaron Lopley ("Reset").

A week from Friday, at least on the American SciFi Channel, brings us Samantha Bond as Mrs. Wormwood in the first episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures: "The Invasion of the Bane."

(And this doesn't even bring in how Freema Agyeman, Naoko Mori and Eve Myles all started out in smaller roles, before moving on to co-star status.  Or how John Barrowman instantly moved into co-star/star status.  And, come to think of it, Catherine Tate is turning into the newest co-star...)
