Went to Staples and ordered 1000 more shipping labels, bought more paper, printing ink, etc.  I had two discount cards for the copy center, but not only did they let me use the card for everything I bought (stuff not from the copy center) but they let me use BOTH cards - I saved about 50% off the entire order, basically getting the labels for free.  That's what I'M talkin' about.

Congrats, BK!  I love it when things like this happen. :D

Even though i wasn't really an adam fan, and even though he was the worst dancer left, i was really sad to see last night's elimination. It's probably becaues julianne is my favorite pro dancer. But i just wanted to see how far adam could go training wise.  I was happy to see kristi and marissa safe. I really would not have cared if priscilla had been sent home. She's fine. But i like most of the others better. I'm sad we won't get to see julianne every week. :(

1776.

1776 PRO-war?

With a song like "Mama, Look Sharp"?  A song about death caused by war?  About loss caused by war?

Even General Washington, in his letters to the Congress, never once suggests that war is something wonderful.  To the contrary, he complains bitterly of life at the battlefield.

I've never run across a review that said the musical makes war sound like a good thing.

1776 is pro-revolution, pro-freedom.  It is about throwing off the shackles, whether they be of the tyranny of unjust leadership or the equal tyranny of following a way of thinking simply because that thinking has existed and been followed before.  That does not make it pro-war.

Yeah, what he said

Time for dinner.  I'm going to see The Reckoning: Remembering the Dutch Resistance  tonight http://www.orpheumlive.com/events/showEvent.php?p=1&ID=325
It's Tolerance Week here. This time the focus is on the Dutch who hid their Jewish friends and neighbors during WWII.  A lot of us living in this part of the state have some Dutch heritage so it's going to be interesting on many levels.   There will also be Dutch survivors who participated in the resistance here to speak after the film. I'm looking forward to it

I'm having some delicious pizza with mushrooms and fresh garlic with a caesar salad for dinner, all quite yummilicious.  It's been a good day here at ole 202 West 82.  I vacuumed and cleaned the place this morning, then I printed out 5 Ellington scores for this Gay Men's Chorus job.  I spent the last 3 hours writing critical notes on The Lady Of The Slipper, mostly on the song "Bagdad," and its references to 1912 events: Otis Skinner in Kismet and The Lenox Avenue gang led by Gyp the Blood and Lefty Louie, who were executed in 1914 for the 1912 shooting of Herman "Beansie" Rosenthal poutside the Metropole Hotel.

I will chill out, watch some tv, catch the latst TOP CHEF and read more about Miss Austen.

After DRs JoseSPiano and elmore3003 attend the recital, we will read the headline below the photo in the NY POST, quoting them from jail as saying "we both reached for the Gunn..."

I think so, too, Jane.  They showed it to the 5th Graders today and had the speakers then it's free to the general public at night.  It's an annual thing. The past 2 years there have been concentration camp survivors here. This is a different perspective and I'm anxious to see it
