Back from a lovelier than lovely luncheon with Mr. Patrick Cassidy. We ate at Stanley's - here's what's funny - whenever I have a lunch meeting at Stanley's, Miss Karen Morrow and Mr. Billy Barnes are ALWAYS there! Same with today - isn't that weird? In any case, Mr. Cassidy and I spoke of many things and it was all very delightful.

After that, I had to do several errands. Later I have to go out again and print up a new galley - I hadn't realized, but we'd left the right side of the text ragged, which I don't really like anymore, style-wise, so Grant fixed it and e-mailed it to me.

Took the new galley pdf to Staples - they've got a new gal working there and the two regular guys couldn't be bothered to help me, so I fear for what I'll be picking up, but hopefully she got it right. She seemed confused the entire time. I think it's pretty obvious she'll charge me the full per page price rather than the script rate, but we'll fix that when I get back there at six to pick it up. Because there's a nearby Kinko's, Staples has always been a great place to Xerox - cheaper, no waiting, friendly - but that's all changed in the last couple of months, and now everyone has caught on, so that the last five or six times I've been there, there's always a wait, they can never just do it while I wait, and unless it's one of the gals I deal with regularly, the friendliness has evaporated.

So... I headed out earlier to meet my friend, Michael. A friend of his came into town this morning, and since we were all in need of some lunch, we went to lunch.

We ended up at Chirping Chicken where we all enjoyed our very generously portioned salads, sandwiches and/or platters. -I swear, they must some great deal from their poultry vendor/supplier. The small(!) Grilled Chicken Salad comes with two, large grilled chicken breasts for just under $7.00. *And their ribs are very good too.

After lunch, we walked a few blocks down Amsterdam where we stopped into Crumbs. We had originally just planned to stop in there and look - Magnolia was our original dessert destination - but after Michael's friend saw the offerings in the display case, well... YUM!

*On the eventual walk down to Times Square, we did stop and look in on Levain, Grandaisy Bakery, and, last, but certainly not least, Magnolia.

After my afternoon of Enabling, I headed on down to SoHo for some clothes shopping. Well, I attempted to shop for some clothes. I stopped into Uniqlo hoping to find a basic polo shirt or two. Alas, they just switched to their Summer Color Palette which just simply did not work with/for me. Of course, there was a storewide sale on their polo shirts... Ah, well.
